The Hertz Corporation has
announced that Hertz On Demand, Hertz's global
car sharing club, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with
Chargemaster plc, the UK's
premier supplier of electric vehicle charging solutions. The parties are in
discussions to
launch the operation of an electric vehicle (EV) car share scheme in
Oxford, England.
The program is designed
to appeal to residents, visitors, and business people, who
will be able to reserve and drive a conveniently located electric vehicle
by the hour, day
or week from http://www.hertzondemand.co.uk. The hourly rates will start
from GBP5 (pounds
sterling) and include in-car access to the Member Care Center, insurance,
roadside
assistance, maintenance, and cleaning. Membership in Hertz On Demand is
free and will
entitle members to use the operator's other car clubs in the US, Europe and
China.

How do I remove the strong smell of cleaning solutions from a car?

The used car we are buying was cleaned rather over zealously with shampoos, cleaners, etc. that have left a strong smell throughout and a residue on the hard surfaces. Other than cleaning the hard surfaces with water on a clean cloth, how can I make the smell go away faster?
get some coffee grinds and sprinkle them around. then vacumm them up. or put the grinds n a little can. and leave them there for a few days. you will smell the coffee. but it is better than all the other stuff. happy new year.

one eighth cut 2 red delicious apples ,take about 16 charcoal briquettes,place in equal portions under front seats or in rear floorboards if not used for 2-3 days,then remove.

Good car cleaning solution?

Does anyone have the "recipe" for a good car cleaning solution to wash the car at home? I'd rather not go buy a car soap and just put one together myself. Or would just dish soap, etc. work? Also, how can I get my windshields and windows really clean? Any other car cleaning tips are appreciated as my car is a mess! Thanks!
dish detergents are too harsh and will remove all the wax from the finish
you are better off buying even the cheapest product from walmart in the long run, it will clean and leave a little wax on the finish rather than take it all off
these products have features that you cannot duplicate at home
wash it once to loosen the grime, and use triple the amount of car wash and wax
then wash it a second time, changing the water and double the amount of car wash in the bucket
it will also work on your windows, then finish them off with newspaper and an ammonia based window spray
use a microfiber towel where ever you can

there is no recipe or secret in grooming your car,, first dont use dish soap for shampooing your car, it will make ur paint fade..u can buy some good product in the market or if u really lazy to buy, plain or just strong water will do. i advise u to wax it, (windshield and body of the car), it will give a brilliant shine. for the interior, just regular wiping of the dashboard, sidings, mirror and vacuuming will make it nice to look and ride.. My sister puked on my back leather seats. I cleaned it all up and used a ton of car care products and cleaning solutions but the smell is still there. I called up a car cleaning place and they told me that it will cost me minimum $75 to clean the back seat. I thought its cheaper. Do you think that this price sounds reasonable?

I would like to know how could I clean my car's carpet mats at home ? Any suggestions for carpet cleaning solutions ?
Fill your washer with oxyclean. Curl the mats slightly and place them in the washer so that they conform circularly within the washer. They should look-and smell-much better after a complete wash. If you have a power washer, this may work as well provided the mats are durable enough to take the pressure. I've used it successfully on oem Toyota carpeted mats.
