KALAMAZOO, MI – Look for Ziggy’s Auto Sales to open a location at the former Mi Ranchito restaurant site on South Westnedge Avenue this summer.
Zig Kocefas said he hopes to open his second area used car store at 3806 S. Westnedge Ave. by July.
He is laying the groundwork to build a 3,400-square-foot sales office and garage there for the business.
The Mi Ranchito restaurant that closed about five years ago on South Westnedge Avenue had different ownership than the Mi Ranchito that continues to thrive at 3112 S. 9th St. in Oshtemo Township.
Ziggy's Auto Sales on Westnedge will employ two people, aside from Kocefas, who hopes to keep an inventory of 20 to 25 quality, late-model used cars there when the business is up and going. He maintains an inventory of 15 to 30 used cars, trucks, minivans and SUVs at his ongoing location at 1930 W. Main St. on Kalamazoo’s West Side.
“I looked at the opportunity a few years back when property was high,” Kocefas said of the South Westnedge location, which had a different owner after the restaurant closed there.
