car detailing?

i've been hearing people getting there cars detailed.. and i'm curious at what that is, i have a 2005 nissan altima and i've kinda made it look like shit even from the inside.. so what is exactly car detailing and how much does it cost.. and where can i go for one?
A lot of car washes have a detailing guy. They are always very expensive though. Try looking in the on line yellow pages for your area for a smaller operator. They are lots cheaper.
A good detailer will clean the interior, wash and polish the paint, clean the engine bay.
I found a guy in my area that comes to your house and charges $75.

a good job will usually cost around $150-$200, i am a detailer and what i do is wash the car, clay bar it and then wax,the inside gets shampooed and the engine gets steam cleaned, when its done every surface on or in the car will be cleaned and treated

Car Detailing?

How much would it cost to get a PTCruiser detailed? What would they do to the car and is it worth it?
Thanks.
detailing is the same price for all cars......a different price is set up for bigger vehicles like trucks and vans.....
just detailing is about $60 (Canadian)......I had my A4 done up for $200....that included a complete exterior car wash by hand, detailing, washing the engine, stains from windows, rims, tires....basically after spending $200, my car looked like it just came off the production line with 0 mileage.....awesome

That would depend on where you took it. It would be cleaned expertly from front to back. It would be worth it because it would look awesome when done.. call around for prices.

Shop around first, ask people who already took their car(s) there, because they could damage your car's clear coat. Price ranges for 150 and up, you will get it washed and waxed (ask what products they'll use), the inside will be cleaned and remove stains fron seats and carpets, or any vesible stains. Shop around, ask and good luck.

a really good detail job can cost anywhere from 75 bucks all the way up to 125 bucks,it all depends on what all they do,some detail the engine area and the underneath of the car as well as wash wax and buff the car out, also they shampoo the insides of it,seats and all, clean everything possible and detail and dress it out, this can take up to a good day sometimes longer to get one done really good, but it is worth it,i had mine detailed before i sold it,and it brought about a 1k more than it would have brought, whether your keeping it or selling it ,its still worth having done, its like riding in a different vehicle when they get done with it,if its done right,if not hold them to their agreement, and they will clean it up really good, so i have mine done about once every 3 months,,in between times i just have it washed and waxed and cleaned out some on the inside,a full detail takes a lot of time to do,good luck with it,hope this helps.

Professional car detailing or do it yourself by renting steam cleaner from grocery store?
Oct 03, 2007 by neetah14701 | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I've never had my car detailed. My carpet has gone though years of coffee spills and spot cleaning. I recently called a local detailer and found out they charge $179. I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried to detail themselves by renting the steam cleaners at the grocery store or if I should just pay the money for the detailing.
This is one of those issues where it really depends on whether you believe you have the skill, knowledge and ability to do a better job than a professional.
The machines rented from the supermarket are notoriously difficult to use. By the time you get the hang of it, the rental period is over. If it is not cleaned, you are charged extra.
Pay the money for a professional detailing of both the inside and outside of your car. Afterwards, you will ask yourself, why didn't I do this before?
