l think your looking into an already competitive market whereas the supermarkets are employing migrant workers who work for peanuts, god alone knows how you can compete with them, l wish you all the best with your venture,

Question about car insurance UK?
Sep 08, 2010 by JB | Posted in Insurance & Registration
Hi, I have been given a courtesy car whilst my car is in for repair. This is from a main dealer in the UK.
I signed some paperwork and handed over my driving licence which I am guessing was to insure me on the vehicle through them. Do they give you a set amount of days to be insured for, or does the insurance run for as long as you have the car?
Sorry but the man was rushing me and I didn't have time to read the small print - which I am now regretting - also he is a nightmare to contact. I have left 3 messages today and he has not called/answered!!??!!
Got to love the car dealers! Once the sale has gone through they wash their hands of you!!
P.S. Another question - does anyone know the best way to complain about a Honda franchise dealer? This place have been driving me potty.
Hope you got the licence back !
It will be insured as long as you have the car
Complain, first to the dealers head office, then to Honda UK Customer services
Good Luck

Naw, handing over your licence was just to prove you have one and that its the right one for the class of vehicle they are loaning you. YOu keep the loaner until yours is ready - no problem. Just don't send it back with more fuel in it than they left you!!!!

I would assume that the insurance is your own car insurance policy, NOT the dealer's.
Complaint should go in the first instance to the Dealer Principal at the dealer, then to Honda Customer Relations if not satisfied.

if its a Honda main dealer franchise, then complain to Honda in Japan.
complaining to your local dealer is as much use as a chocolate fireguard... and unless its got a cheque attached, it probably goes in the bin.. just email Honda.

The car will be insured as long as they have hired it to you - if you fail to return it at the end of the hire period then the insurance for you to drive ceases.
Contact the dealer principle - Honda will not care if they are selling Hondas for them.

The paperwork was probably to say you were driving the car on YOUR insurance,
this is common practice with courtesy cars. The problem is that your fully
comp.insurance will only cover you third party on the courtesy car.
If you smash the car and its your fualt, your insurance wont pay out,
unless you have told them and paid an excess.
The dealer can copy your licence, but has no right to keep it
,you should DEMAND it be returned Your complaint should
go to HONDA U.K.,

Car paint coming off?
Jul 10, 2009 by tiger | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
My car's paint has been chipping off since this past winter. I haven't gotten it washed since then for the fear of chipping it even more. It's a 98 model mitsubishi eclipse, white in color. I would like to get it re-painted to prevent any damage before the winter arrives.
I although have no idea as to where to go and the rates I might get charged with. The car just completed 100000 miles and runs fine. I want it to last another 3-4 years to get my money's worth out of it. Could somebody suggest a good place to get it painted, a franchise preferably that do it and for around 5-6-700.
Thanks so much
To do a 100% complete re-paint, it will cost $2,000. You can get Maaco to do it cheap, but never heard any great things about them. My suggestion is to take it to a vocational school and they will do it for paint and materials only. It should fall into your price range.

You won't get a paint job worth anything if all you're trying to pay is $400. You could go to a place like Maaco and do it if you really want, but there are horror stories abound from that place about shoddy work that left cars looking worse than before.
If you want a paint job that will actually last, go to a decent body shop and prepare to spend at least two to three grand. No way around it.
