Route 35 in Eatontown Cleaning Up with New Car Wash
15.07.11
In another sign of resuscitation along Route 35 in Eatontown, the borough's planning board approved an application on Monday for a new car wash to open across the highway from Lowe's Home Improvement.
The Eatontown Car Wash will offer customers two bays for washing and a third for detailing services in the site of a former gas station that is adjacent to the former Eatontown Roller Rink and owned by borough resident Camille Varacalli and her niece Michele Sciangula of Staten Island.
Cars will enter the southern end of the property off Route 35 into one of three lanes that merge into a single lane as they wrap around to the rear of the building to the car wash entrance, according to engineer Charles Thomas of Omland Engineering Associates, Inc. in Cedar Knolls.
Cars will remain stationary in the bays as machines move back and forth spraying the vehicles with a high pressure wash of water and cleaning chemicals, said Robert Criscuolo, vice president of A.E. Styles Manufacturing Company, a manufacturer of car wash products located in Point Pleasant Beach.

How many gallons of water does car manufacturers use to pre-wash new cars before putting on primer?
Oct 11, 2007 by (Ω) | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
For each new car.
Of course, I think they need to wash the car after painting it also, don't they?
Also how many new cars are manufactured each day, around the world?
Does anyone know?
I did not know that. But I do dare assume they use huge amounts of water to wash off the chemicals before putting on the paint?
Please, educate me on this issue.
I have heard many different stories.
They are not washed with water. They are chemically cleaned in dipping tanks.
italy_coolfun | Oct 11, 2007
They likely don't use any water to wash before primer, as that would cause rust. The car would not be washed until the dealer did so, likely just before delivery to the customer.

They wouldn't use water, it would cause rust. They wouldn't use water on them until they get to the dealership. But I am sure a lot of water is used to wash them until they are sold.

Italyguy is correct
The 'bare Bodies' are dipped in a large tank with a chemical cleaner. The tank is filtered like a huge swimming pool and the liquid is re-used all year long.
In most assembly plants the auto is water-leak tested by passing through something like a carwash.. This water is also filitered and re-used.

What unique thing do you use to keep your car smelling fresh?
Jun 01, 2006 by xphillipjrx | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I tried dryer sheets, but they don't work. The best thing I got was a lemon stick from my car wash. It was like 2X the size of a stick of gum and it was similar to some cardboard dipped in Pledge. Had no manufacturer or anything on it. I figured I could make it myself and then I thought about Yahoo! Answers.
A bar of irish spring soap under the seat works.

No one ever smokes in my car & since it has leather seats it smells good all the time. I do condition the leather about once a year.

I keep a citrusy cologne and spray it in the car. I lasts a few days and then just spray some more. Nothing expensive though, something just to your liking.

that "new car scent" stuff it works for my dad

I have my car detailed twice a year. I also use Febreze to remove the staleness or food odors. For the best smells, use an essential oil. Buy one of those cheap air fresheners, then use a Q-tip to apply the oil around the edges. It'll seep into the air freshener & last longer.

I use a box of FIRE mints by I think trident. I leave it open and when I get in to my truck its always smells like Cinnamon

The dryer sheets only work if your car has BO and you need to get rid of it.

air bubble in paint of new car?
Apr 18, 2008 by Mark | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I have a 2007 Cobalt that I just bought back in October..I was washing it today and noticed an air bubble that popped due to the high pressure of the car-wash hose I was using..Now the paint is chipped and looks horrible. The air bubble is there there, and its obvious something is wrong because the chip/bubble come out of the paint--it looks like a little lump. Do you think they will fix it under warranty? The warranty booklet says that it will cover paint defects caused by the manufacturer for 3/36, and other "chemical" damages for up to 1 year after the date of purchase. I'm worried I will be given the run around "Its not covered, you have to pay for it" as I'm so used to hearing every time anything goes wrong with the car.
Anyone have any experience with this?
by the way, the car only has 8,000 miles...and hasn't been in any accident, never dinged by a shopping cart, etc. always kept in garage. I baby my car, so I know that it wasn't anything that happened as a result of it getting hit, etc.
I doubt if they will give you any hassle. Take the car in, and don't put it off. If the dealer gives you any grief, then ask to speak to the customer service zone rep. If you look in your owners manual, you should have a 1-800 number for customre service that will connect you directly to Detroit. If the dealer hassles you, give that number a call. Trust me, they won't like it. But you may find that your car gets taken care of quickly.

yep take it to the dealership they should fix it
i have seen cars with paint defects sitting on showroom floors
you really need to look the cars over real good for paint defects before that thing leaves the dealership
goodluck

What can I do about the wind noise in my 2005 Pontiac G6 GT?
Nov 15, 2007 by blkmagikwmn83 | Posted in Pontiac
I have the panoramic sunroof, and not only is the wind noise terrible, especially on the interstate, but if I go through a car wash where the spray goes from the back of the car to the front, I get some leakage. I contacted the dealership because I did purchase an extended warranty, but they don't cover wind noise or water leakage. Also, I purchased the vehicle as a manufacturers buyback because of the sunroof, and it was supposed to be ok. I still have all of the paperwork from the sale. Apparently my problem is common, but what can i do about it?? Especially w/out spending a lot of money?
If your state has a lemon law, use it.
If not take it back to the dealer, If it was a problem before, it was supposed to get fixed.
If you don't get satisfaction go up the Pontiac chain of command until you do.
If you still don't get satisfaction, tell them you will have the state attorney general look up their A** with a microscope, and if that doesn't work CALL the state attorney general.
And as a last resort if none of these things work, plaster the car with signs that say " I bought this junk at (dealer name) and the roof leaks, etc. etc.

this is annoying when you've cleaned your window of your Ford Mondeo?
Apr 18, 2009 by Billy | Posted in Other - Car Makes
(your spell checker can't spell Mondeo) , ok , I have a Ford Mondeo , when I'm driving along the road and something makes a mess on my window , I press my wash/wipe button and it clears the mess BUT a few seconds later the wiper sweeps over the window again , forcing you to stop and wipe it clean manually because the wiper made it dirty again . Is this some manufacturers idea of a joke or is it a requirement of whoever designed the car ?
Have you tried switching of the wipers once you cleaned it with the solvent ?
