Been looking at this with (building owner) Martin Lind for a year and a half, trying to make it work out," he said. "We're going to run with it."
Location, Location, Economy
More than 60,000 cars drive past the location at U.S. 34 and Weld County Road 17 every day. He's banking on that high visibility and a rebounding economy.
He hopes to open July 1 in the 45,000-square-foot building at 753 Champion Drive, with a lease of at least five years.
At the new Iron Mountain Truck and Auto Collision Repair and Fleet Painting, he said he'll devote the back section of the building to body work and painting, focusing on commercial clients.
"There's not a lot of full-size collision shops for fleet work," he said, and the large space will allow him to work on semis as well as smaller work vehicles.
He said he already has commitments from companies in Wyoming that will be using his services on their fleet vehicles -- "oil companies, for the most part, and construction companies."

Is engine detailing necessary? Does it make your car run better or is it just for aesthetics?

I like to detail my engine twice a year. Once after the leaves fall off the trees and then once around late spring after the pollen falls off the trees. I have the best looking engine on my street but I wanted to know if it's just an aesthetic thing or am I doing something good for the car?
its good to keep it clean the dirt dont help the motor stay cool and it also dont get inside as much plus it looks better and easier to see things bad not to say when you do have to work on it its not all greasey.... sounds like your doing it right and the times are fine

where can you get engine detailing done. is it worth it?
Mar 11, 2007 by odysseyxltd | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
my car is a mercedes 350sdl (turbo diesel) about 200k miles on it.
Under the hood it looks really old and a mess, although the car runs well. There is i'm sure corrosion , although dont see much rust.
I was wondering how much an engine detailing / cleaning would cost and where I could get it done. Does it offer any performance benefits or is it simply aesthetic.
also I was wondering do you have to change oil filters when you change oil. If so what is a good filter brand for my car,
thanks)
hehe.. seems kind of akward to go to a detail shop and ask them "do you know what your doing" before having them do it))
i would do it myself but my only worry is hitting water-sensitive parts such as sensors / alternator, etc.
i dont know much about cars so i wouldnt not everything to cover before doing the cleaning
Any detail shop can clean your engine and basically it is just for looks. You should always change your filter when you have the oil changed.

i own a repair shop ,and most good detail shops will know how to do this without getting the wrong stuff wet on it,i do it on every car i work on before i even start to do any kind of a job, even a tune up,and the customers seem to like the fact that its free also, but most shops if the know how and what to do,will charge around 50 bucks for this service, and yes it is worth it,once you get it cleaned off its a lot easier to keep it clean, and this makes it a lot easier to keep clean also, but id ask at any good detail shop, and make sure they know not to get certain things wet on it like the alternator,it can short those out,and yes always change the filter with the oil in it,i use a fram filter and have never had any problems from them at all, there's a lot of different brands on the market, any one of the good better known brands will work just fine with it,good luck,i hope this helps.

why pay someone to do it .when you vcan do it your self.you can do it either at home by buying engine cleaner at the store.the type i use is gunk in the orange lid. spray it on your engine and let set then spray it off with either a pressure washer or if you dont have one just use a hose.the other way is to go to your local self serve car wash and see if it has a spot on the knob that says engine and tire cleaner. just spray done the engine let set about five minutes then rinse .if not clean enough spray again and let set longer. if you want you can leave the engine running while doing this.

What are the benefits to detailing your car engine?
Mar 14, 2010 by Chris | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I was wondering that other than the fact that you can see any leaks or problems more easily, are there any other benefits to a clean engine?
yes keeping your engine clean has benefit's build up of oil and dirt on rubber pipes deteriorates the rubber hose etc.. dirt on hi voltage parts can cause arking and tracking ...dirt can be drawn into inlet manifolds etc lookin good feelin good better for re sale

There really is no reason but the ones you named.. All it dose is make the car or truck look nice.
Dingo | Mar 14, 2010
It helps for when you want to conduct maintenance and such, but is not beneficial to the engine. If your looking for some extra power, then start saving because unfortunately anything that provides decent power isnt cheap.

just makes it look nice and if there are leaves and such in your bay prevents fire hazards from oil soaked organic materials ect.. another bonus is if your up on your detailing your car then things like the little plastic bits in your engine bay the pours don't get impregnanted with dirt and dull it

itll also keep the rubber hoses from cracking and drying out,, as in the vacuum lines etc...thats if you are using a coating after you degrease the engine,, just cleaning the engine will actually take the oil coating off hoses etc and they will dry and crack,, honestly i use armor all on every engine i clean,, soak it with it and itll last for months,,,looks great too,,,Art

I'VE...USED "AWSOME" FROM THE 99CENTS STORE
ON A COLD ENGINE...
-SPRAY/LET SOAK...
-SCRUB WITH A LONG BRISSLE WASH BRUSH,
-RINSE WITH A PRESSURE NOSSEL ON A HOSE.
-REPEAT
I THEN HAVE BLOWN DRY WITH A SHOP VAC
SPRAY [LIGHTLY] WITH TIRE SHINE
START AND LET IDLE/WARM THE ENGINE
AND DONE, JUST LIKE OFF THE DEALER LOT!
