Has anybody washed their car barefoot at a self serve car wash?

I washed my care barefoot at Wonder Wash today. It was wonderful! I decided to take off my sandals and wash the minivan barefoot. This did keep my feet clean though LOL! My feet did get soap on them so they didn't stink. ANybody else washed their vehicle barefoot at a self serve car wash?

Of course, all the time! I can't believe so many people would rather wash their car wearing shoes - yuck -

Car washing is best done wearing nothing but swimming trunks.

That sounds gross, I keep my shoes on in public.

Not at a carwash but I often take barefoot showers at home which I believe serves the same purpose.

Why? and no, never, I wash my car at home and give her TLC. I'm sure there is a ton of nasty things on the ground that you were walking around on barefoot, you know one of my friends puked all over another friends car one night and we took it to one of those and just hosed it off? Sure hope it wasn't the one you went to......

I go ahead and shower there as well. Those spray heads really get the ear wax out.

That actually is a good way to get a good cut on your foot and a great way to get infection. I am sure that is was great being barefoot in all that water, but there are so many particles on the ground that you can not take into account that could cut you, that it is not worth the risk.

That is just plain gross-- there are many germs and stuff in there- I used to live next door to a car wash and can't believe some of the stuff I saw people wash.

I don't own a car but I do go barefoot full-time and people in this category sure are germaphobes! Our skin is made to keep pathogens out, we've lived for thousands of years wearing footwear only rarely and no plumbing system, okay there were more diseases but if we were *that* fragile we'd never have made it past walking upright. The skin on our feet is pretty tough, especially if you're used to going barefoot, and won't cut so easily. As long as there are no cuts, we're at far greater risk of picking something up through our hands, because with our hands we touch our faces and food (even if you wash up before dinner, who never takes a snack or cookie without washing up?). That way we transfer germs we pick up from all those common items many people touch -door knobs, shopping carts, money, etc- to a place where they can enter our body. On our feet, as long as you don't lick your toes, most things aren't going to harm you.

(Hm, I wonder who are the real germaphobes and are going to carry babywipes on their next shopping trip after reading this :))

Besides the broken glass, gravel and rocks, those pressure hoses can put out quite a sting on bare feet. Might a trip to the cash wash followed by a trip to the emergency room.

i have

I don't own a car, but I've washed many cars belonging to friends and family at self-serve car washes in my bare feet. I've been a barefooter since I was a boy, and really enjoy it.

Only girls should go barefoot in public, no men !!!

Do the foam brushes at a coin operated self serve car wash put scratches in the paint of a new car?

I've heard you should only use a soft sponge or cloth to wash your vehicle.

Your best bet is to go to a hand wash car wash. Brushes eat into the paint and may not be recognizable at first. But contiued use will ruin your paint job.

those brushes are meant for your wheels and tires

no the modern paint is pretty durable

Before using the brush, you should run your fingers threw it to make sure there is nothing in the brush to scratch your paint. Otherwise they are fine to use.

I wouldn't use it as maybe someone before you washed their 4x4 after they were running the mud trails, that will definitely scratch your paint, always use a soft sponge to wash your vehicle.

yes
they do

if you go to an automatic car wash
go touchless
otherwise use a special wash mitt designed to wash cars

Can you clean the motor of your car at a self serve car wash.?

Can you use the soap sprayer on your car engine? It is a Subaru.

As long as you don't point the spray directly at any of the electrical stuff, I stand back little do the sides and the front, keeping the wand moving all the time, repeat from other side. Never had any problems.

brown bear self serve car wash?

Has everyone been to a brown bear car wash in washington? If so have you enjoyed it? How do you usually wash you're car at the self serve? I love it and wanted to see how you are supposed to wash it.
