Wilwood's New Big Brake Kit for the Nissan 370Z and Infiniti G37 Sports Cars

Camarillo, CA (PRWEB) March 17, 2012

Wilwood Disc Brakes has recently introduced a front disc brake conversion kit for the new Nissan 370Z and Infiniti G37 sports cars that feature the latest in Big Brake Technology. This track-tested big brake kit will not only provide better street performance, it will really make a huge improvement over the original brakes on the track where consistency counts.

The complete bolt-on brake upgrade kit is lighter than the original brakes, so a handling improvement will also be a benefit received from the changeover. The kits feature Wilwood’s Superlite 6-piston calipers that work perfectly with the OE master cylinder and ABS functions. The caliper is used with a lightweight two-piece rotor assembly with an aluminum hat and the buyer’s choice of a slotted or drilled and slotted rotor assembly. The complete kit (Part Number 140-9192) comes with the calipers, caliper brackets, rotors, aluminum hub adapter, brake pads, and all of the hardware required to finish the installation. The calipers are available in red or black powder coating.

10 Mopar Maintenance Tips

Check Brakes

Brakes are one of the most used (and often abused) components. A thin layer of the brake pad disintegrates every time the brakes are applied. It's vital to replace pads or shoes before drums or rotors become damaged. Check pads, shoes, drums, rotors, calipers, fittings, brake hardware and parking brake to prevent problems.

How do you change brake rotors on a nissan xterra?

NOT pads, just the rotors?

To change front rotors on a xterra u have to remove the brake caliper and brake guard off the rotor and then remove the gold cap off the hub and unscrew the two screws holding the wheel bearing in then unscew the holding plate that holds the bearing remember which way the holding plate goes when taking off... then remove the hub and the rotor comes with it ... then the screws going around the hub on the out side remove theses and the rotor comes off .. but i also suggest repacking the wheel bearings and replacing brake pads pads with the new rotors ...

If you don't know how then how do you know they need changed?? I have never heard of changing rotors and not pads ?? I think you are on the wrong track. What is the problem??

I own a 2006 nissan altima. What brake pads and rotors should I purchase? Dealership or Autozone?

I'm Certain i ownly need brake pads but for future refrence on the rotors. Thanks in Advance!!!!

PS: I'm looking for good if not the best performance for my car.

OEM IS ALWAYS THE BEST the pads and rotors last longer and stop better.
but you must suit your budget if you need pads buy top of the line at a wholesale distributer for OEM Nissan parts not the dealer they cost 3 times more but if thats all you can do it's worth it to have the pads OEM.
The rotors can go ether way just buy top of the line at Auto Zone or Advanced Auto Parts.

Or you can put on anything that stops the car for cheep but you get what you pay for with that on millage, drive ability pulsation and it even stops the car slower and warps the rotors fast. With cheap parts you don't really save much money !

We put on junk at the doge dealer because the price of pads, OEM dodge is hard to sell and they get what they pay for in 20k miles to pay for a brake job at $220 a pop when the OEM pads get 34k at $ 340 and you were the rotors more evenly so you have got to figure that you have the 40k for cheap at $ 47 each and the OEM at 60k at a $100 each.

It is good for mechanics, more brake jobs it's easy money.

So thats why in the long run I say buy OEM pads and top of the line after market cheap rotors if your a do it your selfer.
GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE THIS HELPED

You wont need rotors for a while. Autozone does have the list for the factory replacement type of brake pads. Autozone will give you a wider choice of types, the dealor will only have the factory reccommended replacement. The factory reccommended replacement will pretty much be the same price at either place. Rotors are rotors, unless you want to get slotted/drilled or something like that.

Auto Zone should have a carbon metalic that really does well. If not get thier top of the line ceramics. all pads are designed to meet or exceed OEM quality.

Well if you had 35,999 your pad would still be under warranty but since you have 36,000 your warranty is over but I personally would go with the one from the dealership that what your car came with so you should replace it with them.

If your rotors aren't worn too much, they should be able to be resurfaced or "turned" - this will return the faces of the rotors back smooth again - giving you a better braking surface and will make your replacement pads last longer. Usually it's cheaper to turn the rotors than to replace them, but price them out first - no use to spend $10.00 apiece turning them when you can get a new one for $15-$20.

Get a better grade brake pad from your parts store - don't get the cheaper ones. Reason being - the cheaper the brake pad/shoe the more you rely on stopping on the glues and binding materials to stop you instead of the friction materials.
The better the pad/shoe, the higher concentration of friction materials in the "puck" and the shorter stopping distance you'll have. May make the difference between stopping before a wreck or 10 feet into it...

for 36,000 miles just get brake pads. Depending on how you use your brakes, i'm a hard breaker on my 05 350z. i changed the rotors at 50,000 well more like an upgrade. if you start to hear squeaking when you step on the breaks that means the metal part of the pads are in contact with the disc or rotors and this will scratch your disc or rotors. when scratched you will have to replace it. If you want stopping performance, get brembo brakes. excellent stopping power. there are other after market parts. Nissan uses brembo's on some of their R-spec models. shop around, try tuner shops they usually carry a lot of after market parts

How much would it cost to replace the brake pads, rotor and caliper repair on the front of a nissan pickup?

depends on the grade of parts that you buy and if you are doing it yourself or paying someone to do it for you. To get an accurate answer to your question I suggest you ask more detailed questions. like is it 4x4, are you wanting top of the line parts or re manufactured ones. Will you be doing it yourself... all of these aspects will effect the final price. I don't mean to sound like a smart azz but it matters. What if I asked,"My car wont go, whats wrong?" Not much to go on there is it? Try including your trucks year model and any other pertinent information to get a more concise answer to your query

150 for good quality parts
$100 for ok quality parts
Labor is 1-2 hours so that depends on hourly rate of mechanic.
Mine can chage it for about 80 plus 150=230

That is something I cannot estimate over the computer until I have the truck in my stall on the lift all the wheels removed. Wheel bearings have they ever been repacked?

go online and price the parts like e bay or auto parts stores
