It has often been said that you should never meet your heroes because you’ll likely be disappointed. For better or worse, one of mine is a car.
Born five years before me, the 1965 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 was already a classic by the time I reached the age of automotive awareness. The first real thoroughbred Mustang, its Guardsman Blue stripes over white livery remains iconic today, and pristine originals command prices well into the six-digit range.
That being the case, I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I’ll probably never get the chance to drive one in anger on a racetrack. That opportunity certainly passed a couple of decades ago.
So, it was with childlike glee that I welcomed the news that Shelby American was resurrecting the name on an all-new Mustang in celebration of the 45th anniversary of the original. Yes, I see you are good at math. The year 2012 marks the passage of 47 years. Well, the new car -- based on the 2011 Mustang, actually -- was unveiled in January 2010, 45 years after the first one was. And even though we’re just in 2011 now, the Mustangs currently on sale are 2012 models, and not technically anniversary models. To be honest, for all I care they could call it the Centennial Edition, just let me drive the car.

How will a Borla Exhaust sound on a V6 in a Chev Trailblazer?
Nov 18, 2006 by Magnus01 | Posted in Other - Cars & Transportation
I am debating on whether to add a Borla exhaust or a Flowmaster exhaust. I have also heard that Magnaflow Exhaust are good also. Which one would you reccomend? I am leaning toward Borla. I want that performance sound (Like a Vette or a Mustang GT) and not necessarily like a heavy V8 sound.
any exhaust on the V6 engine will sound like the rice burners with those huge exhausts out the back, nothing but loud noise and backfire.

will borla exhaust tips make my car sound any different than slp exhaust tips?
May 26, 2009 by wade | Posted in Pontiac
have a 2000 ws6 trans am that has a borla muffler but SLP exhaust tips. wondering if i bought some borla tips for it if it would change the sound much?
Exhaust tips won't really make a difference in sound unless one is larger than the other. A 3" exhaust tip will be noticeably louder than a 2.5" tip. Its really the muffler that factors in the sound for automobile exhaust.
In your case between SLP and Borla you couldn't go wrong as both are respectable manufacturers and make great quality products. Just go with what style you like the best :)

Only very slightly - the previous post is pretty well right in this regard. There may be some minor change to a little bit of the tone, but not much. There is a bit more of a change if you swap from flat (oval) to round, due to the shape change "distorting" the sound, but in this regard I would let the change in appearance dictate more of the decision than the sound!

there is no difference in sound with only tips. get a new muffler if u want a better sound. i have a flowmaster 80 series muffler and it sounds great. if ur looking for performance to go with a good sounding muffler go with a borla or slp exhaust system if u can find one... they stop making slp awhile back. or do what i did and make ur own strait pipe exhaust

What year is it and is it a 6 or an 8 banger? If it's a small block 8 banger then I say go for it. Borla exhaust is a great exhaust system!

ya, but you will pay a mint. Just take it to a shop and have them do a cat back system that will give you bigger pipes and muffler.

How would a Borla exhaust kit sound?

How would a Borla exhaust kit sound (T304 to be specific) on a 2002 Camaro? would it be very loud?
It will sound amazing. I have a Borla system on my 25th annv TA. I don't know the exact system though. It has four different plates. That you can install to adjust the back pressure. Its extremly loud with those installed. When the blocking plate is in and routes through the muffler it has a deep rumble and doesn't make any cackling sounds that some ehxaust systems do. You won't regret getting this product.

I have borla exhaust on my LT1 corvette. How can i make it louder and still pass emitions?
Jul 30, 2009 by Arrowheadfan | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I just want to make my car really loud, and still pass emitions
2 chamber flowmasters with a bassani x pipe no cat's. The borla exhaust is made to be quite and still have performance but flows are made to be loud and have great performance. If you want it really really loud add some headers and an electric cut out from summit it will open the pipe up right at the header (only when you want though) thats the loudest it'll get
