New Product: AEM Cold Air Intake For The 2011 Mustang GT
15.07.11
Performance and power are two essential components in the new 2011 Ford Mustang GT. AEM’s cold air intake systems are designed to produce massive horsepower and torque gains by eliminating airflow restriction caused by the factory airbox system and filter. By removing this restriction and replacing it with AEM’s mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube and Dryflow air filter, AEM’s intake systems for the 2011 Mustang GT with the 5.0L engine gains an estimated 8 horsepower at 5000 RPM.
The AEM intake inlet connects to the OEM air scoop for an influx of cooler outside air. The system has a removable top that prevents heated engine air from entering while allowing access to the filter when needed. An AEM Filter Minder Gauge is also included to let you know when the air filter needs to be serviced.

Where can I get the install instructions for a AEM intake system, 1.8t VW Jetta?
Jan 13, 2008 by racingonedge | Posted in Volkswagen
I bought this system used which fits on 99-05 VW 1.8t Jetta. It didn't come with the instructions and I don't want to do it the wrong and hard way. A URL or download or e-mail of the AEM instructions for this car would be GREAT!!!!
Thanks
I already search all over AEM's website and they don't have the instructions anywhere.
go to aem website and they will have instructions. when you purchase the item from aem you it comes with it

What's the difference between a classic air filter system AEM Intake?
Aug 09, 2006 by Sailor | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
And what's the life time of AEM Intake
A "classic air filter system" uses a 'drop in' type air filter that is secured in place by the stock air filter retainer box. The air filter takes air in, and that air goes to the throttle body, which goes to the intake manifold, and so on.
The OEM air-filter / intake system for most cars is their weakest aspect, performance-wise. The air going into the filter in stock setups is HOT air sucked into the pistons and made even hotter in the process, which isn't very effective if you consider that hot air is less dense so the motor isn't combining as much air and fuel in each combustion as it would be if the air rushing into the motor was colder.
"AEM" is just one manufacturer of "Cold Air Intake" systems (or CAI). A CAI system is the first step in improving the intake components of your car. A CAI installs easily (really easily) onto your stock throttle body in place of the OEM air filter and box. It sucks air through a filter aimed into the bottom of the engine bay, thereby bringing in colder air. It filters materials much better than a stock filter, and it has better heat-resistance than a stock filter. So RWHP is increased because you've decreased the air temperature at intake, effectively allowing air to be denser in each piston which combusts more powerfully.
CAI systems are designed well by most big-name manufacturers. AEM's filters, along with every other brand name, last for the life of your car. The CAI Kit comes with cleaning materials. Take care of it properly and it will last for a long time. I like to replace my filter once a year just so it looks nice and new.
In terms of quality, I like Iceman, K&N, and AirRaid. I've found those to have the best dyno results and quality. AEM is okay, the "Target" of CAI systems. Stay away from "APC" and "Dragon Weapon-R", at least in my humble opinion, as those are two low quality CAI systems.

Do you have the AEM V2 Intake System under your hood?
Jul 02, 2009 by Happy Meil | Posted in Honda
I'm considering an intake system for my 2002 Honda Civic LX. Just curious as to what people have to say about the AEM V2? Also, any recommendations for other intake systems to consider?
The AEM V2 is a Cold Air and Short Ram Intake fused together... Would a standard Short Ram Intake be a safer choice? (by "safer" I mean for the engine)
I live in San Diego, CA... It's warm and sunny 90% of the year! :D
AEM is a very good brand, good price, good product. I use them all the time. Just make sure that if you're running your cold air intake to the bumper (really low to the ground) that when you see puddles to AVOID them at all cost, other wise your intake will gulp up a bunch of water and get your motor hydro locked, then you can say good bye motor and if you don't know how to replace it yourself, then say goodbye to lots of money replacing your motor.

I did have one for my accord, it was the V2 cold air
it works good and the dry filter is a big plus
but I live in minnesota and the weather is not too kind on cars with cold air intake, I swap it to a regular short ram intake it's works fine but not as good as the V2
If you live in a sunny state like Cali or something, the V2 is a very good choice, it's the best intake available

From my experience with the AEM V2, you don't get the bogging issues due to heat soak on the SRI compared to the Injen.
I have an 07 civic now and having the Injen for 2 months, I was getting the bogging issue again. switched to the Fujita SRI and no more bogging. Injen runs great without the bogging issues on my friends Matrix and Scion. Just seems that the Injen has bogging Issues on the Civic. don't know if it's on all Honda's.
Since you are in SD, go with the Cold Air. just remember to stay away from the puddles.

if you install a short ram, its gona suck in the hot air that the engine produces because it is short,(not good for the engine). if you install a cold air to where its by the front bumper, it will suck in cold air. it(your car) will run alot better, better gas mileage, etc..

i have one on my integra! i have a short ram AEM V2 i like it.but i also have a knockoff cold air which i use most of the time instead of the V2.i live in orange county so rarely rains! do cold air.its louder(sounds nice) better for your motor (it wont suck up all the heat from the engine since its close to the ground) but defi. cold air!

How much faster would installing an AEM cold air intake system make my 1999 Saturn SL1?
Jun 06, 2008 by Alex D | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
1999 Saturn SL1
-All stock-
AEM Cold Air Intake System Short RAM Polished
It won't.
Given that you don't have any other modifications, all you're doing is removing one restriction, but maintaining all the rest.
After drivetrain loss, you're going to see, at best, 2-3 horsepower at the wheels.
At best situation, with ideal driving circumstances, you may have increased your 1/4 mile time by .02 second. Which may be thrown off, based on driving ability.
In otherwords, won't do a thing for you.
And that's both dyno and track proven.

Is the AEM V2 Air Intake System a CAI?
Sep 05, 2009 by Rawr | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Hello,
If i bought a AEM V2 Air Intake System for a 1999 Honda Civic DX would it be a cold air intake? It says "Not all V2 systems are cold air intakes". I would prefer an intake that is not cold air so I don't risk hydrolocking my car (I live in St. Louis, it rains alot). But it doesn't seem to say for my car if it is cold air or not. Can anyone tell me if this is a cold air or not?
