In the JAXA JPM (JEM Pressurized Module), Don Pettit supported ground-commanded science research in the CBEF (Cell Biology Experiment Facility) with his 2nd CsPINs 4 (Dynamism of Auxin Efflux Facilitators responsible for Gravity-regulated Growth & Development in Cucumber 4) session, first activating MSPR (Multi-purpose Small Payload Rack) communications components and then adding water to two CsPINs Chambers B and saline solution (salt water) to the two remaining chambers for Run1-1 of the CsPINs experiment for an incubation time of 21 hrs. Later, the samples were fixated and stored in MELFI (Minus Eighty Laboratory Freezer for ISS). [Don retrieved five CsPINs KFTs (Kennedy Fixation Tubes) with Gultalardehyde Paraformardehyde (G/P) and one KFT with Hydro Tropi Gultalardehyde Paraformardehyde from MELFI-1, inserted the samples in the KFTs and activated them for fixation after reviewing procedures, and stored them in MELFI. Components activated (later deactivated) in the MSPR were the

Try giving these three tips a try:
First, keep a food journal.
According to the New England Journal of Medicine, when people record what they eat, they often find they’ve been drastically underestimating their intake. Writing down what you’ve been eating (honestly!) for a few days can help you assess where you’ve been over or even under-eating, what your portion sizes are like, and where you may need to add certain core nutrients into your diet.
For example, many people skimp on fat when they are dieting, but you need fat to burn fat!
Next, try preparing your own meals for the next couple of days so you know exactly when you are taking in.
Sometimes if you are eating out at restaurants a lot, you may not know exactly how much salt or sugar you are putting into your body.
Excess salt can cause you to hold extra water weight, so if you control every bite you take, you may see some quick water weight loss. Also, you’ll probably feel better all-around from a few days of “clean” food.

whats a good company for air filters or intake kits?

are k&N filters any good they state its covered with oil to help trap particles but wont it just make a mess with oil every where?. if so whats a good company that makes good filter kits. and do filter kits like a short ram air intake really work? i have a 2001 dodge durango 4.7 and the air box if pretty big and the pipe leading from it is like 3 " wide. thanks
K&N has been the leader in filtration for 20+ years. Their products work.

k&n is the best. and yes, they have oil added to help but its not saturated and dripping so don't worry.

K&N,The buest for the price

If you go to BITOG.COM, you will find a forum on air filters. The poster that used a K&N had very high silicon on his oil analysis. The lab gave poor air filtration as a likely cause, allowing too much dirt into the engine. Check out the Dodge Ram forums for opinions on K&N. It seems to me that they are good if you race, but not for street. I had one once, and was not impressed because my car didn't go any faster over the timed course I used as a benchmark.

What would an engine sounds like when replaced by aftermarket air intake kits?
Jan 31, 2006 by coolala2012 | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Can anyone has that kind of exp. to share with or comment about??
Would the engine sound louder too??
mine is 93 VW passat 2.8L
I don't want any more noise coming from my car, so that's why i ask too. Thank you
nothing will increase in noise if you install aftermarket part.to decrease in engine noise is base on hood seal design and engine design.VOLKSWAGEN is having a hard time to lower their noisy engine.

I would imagine the engine would sound no different. You need an exhaust if you want sound.

Cold air intake kits for Infinity G35 '03 coupe?
May 14, 2009 by Alana B | Posted in Infiniti
I know zero about cars and I wanted to buy one for my boyfriend. Can someone find me the best one for the best price? Or tell me which ones to avoid? Thank you!
Also: Are the air intakes that are closer to the vent near the front bumper more prone to water leakage? If so, I need help to find ones that are in the protection of the engine compartment.
Take it from an expert "cold air" stuff is wasted money on 95% of cars made in the last 15 years.
My friend has a dyno at his shop and we like to see the difference in peoples cars he/we dyno. Like in this case we have OH so many times looked for power gains with K&N filters. We have never seen any proof on the screen that K&N filters and many other aftermarket products that claim more power actually work. We have also dynoed with NO air filter and even that didn't add power. MYTH BUSTED!
K&N filters use an oil that is saturated in a cotton cloth held if form by wire mesh. ALL cars with a mass air flow meter for the last 10 years or so can't use a K&N filter without problems down the road. The oil eventually makes it way up to the air flow meter and the oil coats little tiny sensitive sensors. Plus the dirt that is not captured by the filter also coats the sensors. When this happens all sorts of problems can happen, from poor gas mileage to a no run situation. K&N filters LIE big time on the HP gains and MPG gains its all BOGUS. K&N filters ONLY belong on carburated cars and cars with mechanical mass air flow sensors.
Some people say this oil in the MAS problem is related to people putting to much oil on/in the filter ALSO a busted myth.
Car companies are always looking to get a better MPH and hp and torque rating if K&N filters worked and didn't cause problems ALL cars would have a K&N filter or similar filter brands in every new car built.

What is the diffrence between cold air intake and ram air?
Jul 18, 2008 by gordon | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Besides teh price, the ram air kit was around 30.00 and the cold air intake kit is around 350.00. Is one a lot better then the other. I have a 04 grand prix gt that I want to do something with.
Thanks.
They are two different things. The Air ram is a air scoop that forces air into the intake at high speed. the cold air intake is, as the name implies, an air filter located in an area that pull air from outside the hood, which is cooler than the one inside a hood.
