Schatz's Quest for Fifth World of Outlaws Crown Begins in Florida
21.05.12
“The last couple of years we’ve definitely been off our game a little bit,” he said. “You can’t have success without failure. If you don’t learn what not to do you don’t know what to do. The team that Tony (Stewart) has assembled, we’re all competitive people. We pushed each other to limit and maybe even over. The same mentality that got us in trouble is what brought us back to the winning stages and having a dominant race car.”
The Minot, N.D., native said his team that ended last season by sweeping the Lowes Foods World Finals has returned and the focus for 2012 is simple - win races.
“We’re kinda just going after wins,” he said. “Win as much as you can and the championship takes care of itself.”
That begins when the World of Outlaws starts its season on Feb. 17-18-19 at the 41st annual UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla. It’s an event that includes World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, World of Outlaws Late Models and Super DIRTcar Series Big-Blocks, plus UMP Modifieds and Late Models and the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars competing Feb. 14-25.
The more you agree to pay towards the cost of your own misfortune, the lower your insurance premium should be. But every insurance company has its own unique scale of discounts for those who are prepared to accept a higher excess, so once again it really does pay to shop around.
The excess on many policies can be $100, $150, $250, perhaps even as high as $500 or $1000. Push your excess up to a level that is as high as you could afford if you had to make a claim. This should greatly reduce your premium and will hopefully make you take even more care when out on the roads.
You could even save the money that this technique reduces your premium by, just in case you need to pay your new enlarged excess when making a claim. Use it as a safeguard that will give you the confidence to push your excess even higher, which will reduce your premium even further.
Once the money in this savings fund mounts up to more than your excess any further additions can be used for other purposes. Brilliant!

try www.confused.com
last year they said my cheapest was Quinn, and this year it was RAC. They check loads of different companies for you and tell you all the different prices so that you can compare.

Dont try confused.com there only for car insurances. You have the AA, RAC, GREENFLAG, or you could ASK JEEVES on the internet.

Use the AA,while they don't claim to be the cheapest they are certainly the best, they have twice as many patrols on the road than any other breakdown service and the average wait time is only 40 minutes with prioritising for different situations. Cover does start from as little as £39.75 and they always have offers on either online or over the phone. You can save upto 25% on line.

I'm with Norwich Union.
You will find that many insurance companies run schemes ties in with Green Flag RAC and AA, it's worth looking into it. and you do nothave to have your car insurance with them. I think confused.com or one of the others would be useful

Nov 02, 2008 by blackpaw | Posted in Other - Cars & Transportation
there seems to be so many out there now . i need road side and recovery , take home . rescue my car is one .used to have aa but not so much money now , need some one reliable
go to martin lewis money saving expert .com site he gives you the best impartial advice , if you want best value for money the best is insurance where you pay for your breakdown at the time and claim the money back from the company they pay up within two weeks so if you paid by credit card that way u will get paid b4 the bills arrive .Thats how i do it and it works out about 45 pound i think for me and spouse any car

Your car insurance should have the option of roadside service coverage and this is by far the most cost effective way to obtain this coverage. If that is not an option, a membership in AAA provides excellent roadside service and towing coverage and there is no requirement to purchase your car insurance from them to obtain the membership and roadside coverage.

green flag
or
autonational
both really good and cheap
kalsflick | Nov 02, 2008
I'd go for the AA if you're in the UK - very good value & plenty of patrols.
J G | Nov 03, 2008
Depends how long you want to wait around. The AA are about the quickest, and the best in my view. Green Flag can be a disaster. A friend had to wait a week for recovery because the call out garage couldn't be ars*d.
BARRY B | Nov 03, 2008
I am with the AA, my membership is £39 per year and the membership is for the car not the owner, therefore whoever is driving the car is covered for breakdown.

I need breakdown cover for my car. Which is the best to go for and why?
Sep 22, 2006 by michmac75 | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
There is little to choose between any of the breakdown companies, I used to work for one of them so know they simply match each other and try to sell the % rather than the service.
I found green flag the cheapest and has same level of cover as the others, who all use third party agents to attend breakdowns when their agent cannot get to you!

Recommended break down cover for older cars?
Aug 04, 2009 by xxx Kate xxx | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Have been on my parents policy for 5years with my mini as it was cheaper for them but as Im moving out soon thought I should get my own policy. My mini is 1979 but really reliable and just been restored so more like a newer car than a classic.
Was just wondering which is the best breakdown cover to go with, just in case. My dad knows quite a bit about cars so in the past have just rung him so wouldn't need a mega covered one, just basics incase Im out somewhere.
Also I'm not sure what sort of cover to go for, the bacis ones or the added extra ones?
Extended warranties are the biggest waste of money there is and most are limited to cars that are 15 years old or newer. The dealers and car salesmen make more off extended warranties than they do off of selling a vehicle. Just set aside an amount you can live with each payday in a separate account to cover any repairs that may come up in the future. If you don't have to use it, then you'll have a nice down payment nest egg when you're ready to buy a new car some day.
