These Cars Were Like The Popular Kids in School

The most successful car in history may be the Ford Model T. While other models may have sold more vehicles, Ford managed to sell nearly 17 million cars from 1908 to 1927 — a period when car ownership was rare compared to today. The Model T was so successful that nearly every other best-selling car adopted its formula. The Model T was inexpensive to buy, inexpensive to operate, reliable and built by a large company that had hundreds of dealerships and trained mechanics. The other vehicles on this list, from the VW Passat to the Toyota Corolla, share all of these characteristics. The best-selling cars through history have appealed to a broad buyer base because they are within the reach of the masses.

The best-selling vehicles have several other notable features in common. For one, the majority were introduced just before or around the same time that gas prices began to rise rapidly in the early 1970s, primarily because of the Arab oil embargo. Car companies offered 4-cylinder, light and fuel-efficient cars that allowed people to drive without badly hurting household budgets. Many of these cars continue to sell well today as gas prices are relatively high around the world.

Car insurance with a good breakdown cover?

Hello guys,
can someone suggest me a good car insurance with good breakdown cover.
Some company with good service and reasonable monthly payment.
Thanks in advance

There are several ways that you can consider.Call your local agent or do the online quote yourself.Take which way,it depends on your time and knowledge.

Do you mean towing fees? It is very cheap. If you mean repairs, insurance does not cover that.

autoinsurance.maclenet.com - try this one. I personally have their car insurance, cause it is the cheapest for me in our area.

go onto comparison sites to find the best insurance cover for you

you can go on

gocompare
compare the market

money supermarket

confused.com

theyre all useful sites cuz they helped my sister get her insurance affodable

Can anyone recommend a decent car insurance company and who should i use for breakdown cover?

This is my first car and i am a 24 year old female and have just passed my test.

Thanks

As this is UK answers you won't have heard of the first answers companies. Shop around for insurance, but a cheap deal sometimes means problems getting money when making a claim. AA breakdown cover is good as it covers you personally, and therefore ANY vehicle you're travelling in, not just the one specific car.

I've been with Allstate, Progressive, & Geico and have Geico now, they are by far the cheapest. Sorry, I don't even know what breakdown cover means.

Triple A (AAA) is a better company and towing service for younger drivers. I had them as an insurance company for almost seven years and the only reason that I left them was that I bought a newer car and they raised my rates. I'm with drive by Progressive and they've done very well by me.

Diamond are quite good. I think the AA are the best for breakdown cover - when i had my first car an rac man was rude and patronising when i asked him politely for directions, so because of him they've never had my business nor that of my friends and family. I've only used the AA 3 times but they were always quick and did the job well and were not patronising.

I find direct line are very competitive and easy to deal with when making a claim. They can do the brake down cover for you and i think it is the AA they use. It realy doesnt matter wheather you use the AA, RAC or Green Flag they all pool resources and use indipendant garages to scoop you up if required. Personally i am with AA and they have been really good. Always arriving with in the hour anad doing what they said they would do getting my car fixed and on its way or transporting me and car home.

AAA or Geico - both have been really good to me

I'm with Tesco insurance and find them OK. What they charge in premiums for a younger driver I don't know.I think the RAC is the best breakdown choice. You have several different options to choose from.Look for an insurance quote on the net. See what comes up.

Go onto moneysupermarket.com and fill in your details. That should get you the cheapest quote. Good luck...

tescos car insurance and AA.

id suggest confused.com or moneysupermarket.com i saved over £100 for looking!

Diamond or directline will be the ones to use 4 you ,for breakdown use the AA,they give priority to females in the case of a breakdown. good luck

Your best bet is to use an internet search engine such as www.confused.com to get car insurance quotes. Many insurers these days now offer subsidised breakdown cover as an "add on" - you can also get quotes for such additional covers via www.confused.com these days as well as household and travel insurance.

Failing that, if you're not confident to arrange your own insurances, contact a local broker who will be able to tailor a package together for you.

quinn direct seem to be the cheapest company for all new drivers!!!!
and also the best and cheapest break down cover is with the RAC

Progressive

For a breakdown cover policy you should definitely check this website: www.simplebreakdowncover.co.uk.
Not only do they simply list breakdown recovery providers like many sites around but there is also a search engine which compares lots of covers. They will give you the exact premium you will have to pay and do not list policies that you can't buy (i.e. your car is to old or you are too young or too old etc.).

The RAC. they do insurance and breakdown as a package called membership plus. They have a good long-standing history, are well known and have been great with claims in my experience.

Do you have breakdown cover with your car insurance??

No, I don't have breakdown cover, funny thing is the only times I have needed breakdown cover I had it, strange.

Yes. I've used it about 6 times in the last 5 years. Maybe time for a new car!

No I didn't need it, I'm with the AA.

no --i think you find more comprehensive packages and possibly cheaper ones separatly

Mine is due for renewal in another week.
I have been driving for over forty years now, always with breakdown cover - and I have never had a call out.
Mind you, if I don't take out another year's cover, it would be just my luck to breakdown.
This is insurance ! You pay your money but you hope the cover is never needed.

it all depends on the policy. i work for an insurance broker. from the top of my head, i know zurich insurance include basic road side assistance and some norwich union policies we do allow you to add it on at an extra premium. you do not automatically have it. if you look at the back of your policy booklet it will state there if you have it or not. also try checking your demands and needs or policy schedule. but i will almost guarantee you wont have it as standard. you would have been asked at inception of the policy if you wanted to add it on or increase the level of cover on it if it was available.

You won't automatically get breakdown insurance but you will probably be offered it at extra cost.

You can always arrange your own, choose from AA, RAC, Britannia Rescue, Green Flag etc.

If you've got a bank account there may be a discounted offer through that.

does anybody know who provides the breakdown cover when you have Car Insurance from Marks and Spencer?

It is most likely to be Green Flag as they do most of the inclusive breakdown cover deals with insurers.
Green Flag are generally pretty good as in most circumstances they use a local garage to rescue you whihc means they are often quick to get to you - i work with them alot on the motorways.
In any case the breakdown agent they use will probably use a list of nearby garages to get to you as this keeps costs down compared to AA, RAC who pay for their own patrols.

Breakdown Insurance less than 12 months?

Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to get car breakdown cover for less than 12 months? All i ever see on advertisements and online is quotes for 12 months cover but i am planning on leaving the UK for a bit after 6 months so that's all i require. Before i contact insurance companies can someone tell me if this is normal or an irregular request? Cheers!

I think you may be able to get it at 10 months, but not sure about 6.
It would be best to ask the individual company eg. the AA
Haha i wouldn't say it was irregular but who knows what they would think!

Hope you get your cover :) x
