1st responders put class into action after Rock Hill crash

Black arrived to find smoke billowing from the Ford Explorer, which was smashed in from the front passenger-side headlight. He looked under the vehicle for leaking gas or other potential hazards before deciding it was safe to approach.

Inside, he saw the driver was in pain and the passenger was unconscious and bleeding. Her legs were caught under the airbag and twisted metal.

He brushed glass off the passenger, stabilized her arm and pressed on it to slow the blood.

She was in and out of consciousness. Black said he tried to comfort her by saying help was on the way.

Brittany McDaniel, a South Pointe High senior and Kayla Dellinger, a Northwestern senior, both of whom graduated on Saturday, were a block away at a gas station returning from lunch when they saw the 18-wheel truck hit the SUV as it turned left toward the school district's Applied Technology Center.

Both girls ran for the wreck.

Dellinger called 911 on her cellphone, while McDaniel went to help Black.

The 2011 Acadia Denali is Top of the Line for GMC

The car in my drive has the new premium Denali trim level added this year.  This new package features a plusher cabin than its siblings and the OnStar telematics system with a six-month subscription for all Denali buyers.

When you think of the GMC Denali you can put it in the class with the Buick Enclave and the Chevrolet Traverse.

All have in common the noticeable structural design or carlike body that I noticed automatically when it arrived in my driveway – also making it a lighter and more efficient vehicle overall.

Other competition in this class is the Ford Flex, Mazda CX-9, Hyundai Veracruz and the Ford Explorer, the latter one slightly overshadowing the Arcadia when it comes to, at least, the many additional technological offerings.

The Acadia crossover also offers a better handling experience than the bigger truck-based options out there a pleasant surprise and that’s even with more cargo space for people and things inside.

How Do I Fix My Headlights - 1998 Ford Explorer Sport?

I have a two door 1998 Ford Explorer Sport. My headlights do not work. The high beams work but only if I hold the lever. What can I do? Please answer in detail. Thanks.

well you will have to test it out. but most of the time it is caused by the multi-function switch.(also known as turning signal switch)
either the switch or the plug going to it. the cavities in the plug tend to fall apart.

Sounds like the switch is bad. Autozone.com has instructions on how to repair. Or you can buy a manual it should be pretty simple but all autos are different.

I agree with Stiles. But the way to be sure is to buy a cheap testlight and see if power is getting both in and out of the headlight switch.

98 Ford Explorer headlights will only work on high beam when you pull it back toward the driver.?

I'm thinking it is the dimmer switch how hard to replace on my own

i own a repair shop ,and on this one isn't to bad to replace,it mounts down on the lower part of the steering column ,and isn't that hard to get to,just don't let the rod that goes on to it come off from the top area, you can prevent this by being really careful with it,but it shouldn't take too long to get that repaired, good luck i hope this helps.

I think you should try pushing it forward to get it to stay on bright, pulling it back only does it if you hold it back........try it.
.
That's how it works on my Sable.
.

it does sound like your dimmer switch is bad, your steering wheel probably has an airbag in it , and you would have to remove that in order to remove the steering wheel to get to the switch, it's not so bad as long as you have the right tools for the job, and that you know what you are doing. good luck.

Get a Haynes Repair Manual at the local Auto Zone or auto parts store in your area. It will troubleshoot and show you how to fix your vehicle. Also on the Auto Zone site has a section for vehicle maintenance

Normally, you pull the switch and the headlights come on. The you pull a little further and the highs come on.

Still did not quite understand the question. Do the regular headlights work?

As far as replacing the dimmer switch, it is real easy.
Your lucky day. Found the guide for replacing it.

When I got my Ford Ranger I had that problem too and I took it to a mechanic and he said to push the lever forward and I did and it worked. Push the lever forward.

Light bulb.

where can I get a wiring diagram for a 96 ford explorer especially headlights?

Your local ford dealer will usually let you look at or even copy their wiring diagrams. I work at a dealer and we are usually happy to.

Try library or parts store for a Haynes or other manual

Library is correct, but not Haynes. Motor or Chilton wiring/electircal sections. They're a book all their own. Haynes is not factory authorized.

headlights on my ford explorer sport 1998 wont work unless i hold the high beam down what could that be?

got a ford explorer today that i traded for...i have to hold my blinker button so that my high beams are on but my lows wont work what could that be besides a fuse?

Sound like it is your switch in your column.
