Bridgelux Arrays Shine in HELLA's Expanding Portfolio of Interior Lighting ...
LIVERMORE, CA, Mar 19, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Bridgelux Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of LED lighting technologies and solutions, announced today that their awarding-winning RS LED arrays have been selected by world-renown HELLA Lighting for the company's first down light designed specifically for the commercial and retail lighting markets. The HELLA down light is an innovative, very low profile luminaire using a proprietary optical design enabled by Bridgelux LED array technology. According to HELLA, the luminaire will deliver an effective lumen output of 2600 lumens in 4000K neutral white. The new down light is designed to replace the traditional CFL and Metal-Halide lighting systems while consuming only 43 Watts of power.
"HELLA is leveraging its deep experience and expertise in automotive LED lighting to expand their interior lighting portfolio," said Oliver Thurau, head of sales for HELLA Interieur Lighting. "Bridgelux products deliver the industry leading technology and quality that reflect the HELLA brand. In addition to enabling our distinctive low profile design, the Bridgelux arrays offer the lumen output we require with the high quality of light and color uniformity demanded by the very selective retail and commercial lighting markets. Further, Bridgelux offers a broad range of arrays providing multiple lumen outputs and color temperatures all using the same form factor. This reduces the cost and risk associated with the future expansion of this product line."
Multi-Code sets sights on region
Lim said the group is in negotiations with some Indonesian parties to supply to the automotive industry there.
“We think our products will be competitive in Southeast Asia, and coupled with our cost structure we can compete in this region,” said Lim who is considering including India in Multi-Code’s expansion plan.
The group has a technical assistance agreement with Mayur Industries Ltd in India for auto electronics products.
“Hopefully we can see something more concrete in Indonesia before the end of the year,” said Goh Kar Chun, executive director of Multi-Code, during the interview.
He added that the group is looking to supply its core products, such as functional switches, alarm systems and sensors to Indonesia. It is already supplying some switches and a reverse sensor for a Proton model there.
Goh said Multi-Code has MoU and technical assistance agreements with a few partners such as Hella Australia Pte Ltd for the rear combination lamps while collaborating with Hella Slovania in providing fog lamps to Proton and Perodua. It also has cooperation with South Korean companies such as Cheil Electronics for side and inner mirrors and Seijin Electron Inc for the development of combination switches.
