Have you used the PocketScan™ OBD II Code Reader from Actron to diagnose a problem on a 2001 Tahoe?

Want to see if Check engine light is really a problem or just a Revenue Generator for dealerships.
Unless you are experiencing an semi-serious engine problem. the check engine light could come on for number of reasons. Could be anything from an o2 sensor to an EGR valve to an irregularity in voltage in the fuel gage or a faulty coil. There could be a hundred reasons why the light came on.
It's not a Revenue Generator. Cars are technologically advanced and the check engine light comes on whenever a code is triggered.
You can also unplug your battery and let it sit for 5 min and that will often reset the code. Then you can drive and see if the check engine light was a one time code or if there is a part that needs replacing.

very useless

Useless, it'll tell you the code but won't give you engine data. Your local auto parts store sometimes will pull the code for you and give you a general idea why its on. Get the code and email it to me and I'll tell you whats involved

How do I turn off my flat tire light on my Toyota Corolla?
Dec 10, 2008 by Albert | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Ijust got a 'Actron CP9125 PocketScan Diagnostic Code Reader' and plugged it into my car to turn off the flat tire light and the code is not showing up.
I searched the web and came across a good site by Toyota but it has so many pages.
Toyota Corolla Questions & Answers - Page 14 | Answerbag.com
This web-page lists your problem, but I would be here all night since I have a land line and its slow. Good luck/

You using the wrong Diagnostic Tool that for Engine Diagnostic. There no plugging involved. The diagnostic tool for TPMS sensors is hand-held you point at the TPMS all 4 tires to see which one needs to be reset. I don't know where you can get one but there are different one there. They are called TPMS Reset Tool

what vehicles will this read codes for?
Feb 19, 2009 by gbradleyb | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
i am thinking of purchasing this scan tool
Actron CP9125 PocketScan Diagnostic Code Reader for OBDII Vehicles
it says for OBDII VEHICLES. what does this include?
also, is this a good meter for under $70
It's not a meter at all, it's just a code reader. It will work on most cars 1996 and newer, but only to read codes, not to find out WHY the code is appearing! If you get a code for O2 sensor reading rich, for example, you need to find out why it's running rich, NOT to replace the O2 sensor. A scan tool and a code reader are very, very different creatures.

any diagnostic meter under 2000 dollars is gonna stink. OBDII is the type of connection used. Most cars use this connecter, older trucks use other connections, but obdII is very common. Ive never heard of that scanner, i suggest the snap-on modis or if u dont have as much money, try the snap-on solice.

This will read all the cars built after 1995 including foreign cars. The price is not to bad either.

It will read codes for any vehicle sold in the USA 1996 or newer. But that's all you get is the code number.
