Operator
Good day, and welcome to the Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation Fourth Quarter and Year End 2011 Conference Call. [Operator Instructions] Please note, this event is being recorded. I would now like to turn the conference over to Dan Dinges, Chairman, President and CEO of Cabot Oil & Gas. Please go ahead.
Dan O. Dinges
Thank you, Valerie. I appreciate everybody joining us for this call. I have with me today, Scott Schroeder, our CFO; Jeff Hutton, VP of Marketing; Steven Lindeman, our VP of Engineering and Technology; Matt Reid, our VP and Regional Manager; and Todd Liebl, our newly appointed VP of Land and Business Development. Before I start, let me say that the forward-looking statements included in our press releases do apply to my comments today.
All right. At this time, we have many things to cover and expand on, particularly the press releases that were issued last night. I will briefly cover full year financial results, the results of our year end reserve analysis. I will discuss our outlook for Cabot, followed by a discussion of our operations in Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and Texas, including a brand-new takeaway project that we announced in the Marcellus. Before I go on the details of these topics, let me give you a couple of cliff notes of the 2011 for the company.
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - After weather interrupted both Lipscomb's and Middle Tennessee's planned baseball games on Sunday, the two schools agreed to play a doubleheader on Tuesday at Dugan Field at Marsh Stadium in Nashville.
Both the Blue Raiders and Lipscomb ended play in the inaugural Mule Mix Classic with an even 1-1 record, with both wins coming over Saint Louis. Middle Tennessee dropped the opener to Kansas on Friday, and the Bisons fell to Evansville on Saturday.
Middle Tennessee holds a 16-8 mark against Lipscomb under the direction of head coach Steve Peterson, but lost a pair of close contests last year, including a 2-1 pitching duel in Nashville.
The Blue Raiders will look to get back on track against the Bisons with a couple new faces on the mound. Jordan Cooper will make his first career start in the early game, and Jonathan Sisco is slated to make his MT debut in the nightcap.
Cooper, who made his first appearance against Kansas, pitched a hitless 2.2 innings

What is the difference between a ford 429 and a ford 460?
Dec 19, 2005 by Alan Winans | Posted in Ford
I am currently inthe process of restoring a 1979 ford f-150 and am trying to decide which engine to rebuild for the truck, I have one of each. The 429 is from a 1969 thunderbird and the 460 is from a 1979 f-150. Thanks in advance
They both have a bore of 4.36 inches. The stroke on a 429 is 3.59 inches. The stroke is 3.85 inches on a 460. The 429s were only built for 6 years. The 460 was built from 1968 to 1997. Many of the parts are interchangable. There are many books available of ford motors at borders book stores. I have found the best thing to do is find all the information you can from as many sorces as possible and decide what is right for you.

i maybe wrong but i seem to remember the 460 has a longer stroke on crank=more torque, better truck motor

Mathematically, the answer is negative Ford 31...
But seriously, the answer is probably best decided on what you are doing with the truck. If you want to restore it as a work truck, the 460 makes a lot more torque, making it a better truck motor. Also, for authenticity, the 460 is a much better choice since it was an original option on the truck. (Although I would doubt that there's much value in spending the money for a faithful restoration on something as un-rare as a 79 F-150.)
If you are building this into some kind of cool street or tricked out show truck, either engine could be a good choice. The 460, these days, is easier to build into a monster-hp maker; Ford sells some pretty tricked out crate motors that make loads of power and even have warranties. The 429 would be more trick, but would probably cost quite a bit more to make equal power to the 460. Remember, though, the 429 was a late 60's car motor--they aren't efficient, and really aren't all that powerful in their stock configuration. If you want to use the truck as a truck, it's definitely the wrong choice. But as a tricked out street rod/truck, it would be way cool.
If money was no object, hey, how about building up that Ford V-10 truck motor into something really mean?!

What is "Compression Ratio" and is there a way to change it on a 429 ford engine?
Jan 20, 2006 by Alan Winans | Posted in Ford
I have been told that ford changed the compression ratio on the later ford 429 engines, is there a way to change it back to the earlier compression ratio?
the 429 is a killer block....a domed piston will increase compression ratio and a dished piston will decrease the ratio longer or shorter piston rods will do the same job but the higher the compression ratio the higher the octane rating fuel is required. Normaly in a 429 9.25 to 1 is concidered perfect depending on age ,wear ,and care. How old is the block, how is it driven, what work has been done to it? My mustang is a 69 gt 500 totaly stock but the motor is cherry. It all depends on the maintenence

"Compression Ratio" refers to the ratio between the cylinder volume when the piston is at the bottom of its stroke and the top of its stroke - basically, how much the piston compresses the air/fuel mixture in the cylinder.
Generally, the way to increase compression ratio is to install "taller" pistons, probably not something you're up to doing yet, if you're asking this question. But everyone starts somewhere..wishing you good luck if you decide to do it yourself! :)

how many horsepower does a ford 429 superjet have?
Jan 10, 2008 by caroleenkm | Posted in Ford
and how many hp does a cobrajet, and a standard 429 have?
there is a superjet. it was found in thunderbirds. and it was around 375. standard were around 300 to 325. these are factory ratings of course and are off certain percentages between 10 to 20%.

215

What year engines are you asking about. It does make a difference.
nicky | Jan 10, 2008
around 365-425 HP(gross) depending on year,carb choice,emssion controls,etc.
fodaddy19 | Jan 10, 2008
For a "Superjet" I would be inclined to say NONE! There's a Thunder Jet, a Cobra Jet, a Super Cobra Jet, a BOSS, and the plain jane 429, but no Superjet.
