Two tough tires for the racing circuit and the challenging Metro streets
07.06.11
Many drivers don’t realize what big a role a car’s set of tires play in its overall performance. While a car’s body design and engine power have a lot to do with its performance, there are a lot of issues regarding safety, reliability and comfort that lies solely on how good one’s set of tires is.
It makes sense—after all, the tires are the only part of a vehicle that touches the ground.
With this in mind, Bridgestone tires recently launched two new models—the Potenza S001 and the Potenza Adrenalin RE002, which members of the media were allowed to test at the Clark International Speedway under the supervision of the Tuason Racing School team.
Although designed to survive and excel in the fast-paced environment of race car driving, the tires roll out the same level of performance when put through the everyday wear and tear of both city and out-of-town driving conditions they are subjected to in an everyday basis.
“Our group is dedicated to meeting the demands of consumers who love spirited driving. These new Potenza tires will surely capture the passion of drivers who strive to explore new driving limits,” said Marc Tagle, EVP-GM of the Philippine Allied Enterprises Corporation, the official distributor of Bridgestone tires in the country.

Audi Q5 hybrid quattro designed to be sporty and versatile
Audi will have a new entrant in the hybrid sport utility vehicle market later this year with their Q5 hybrid quattro which Audi claims will have the performance of a six cylinder engine pushing out 245hp with the economy of a four cylinder, getting up to 34 mpg, while riding on the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system and an agile chassis.
Like all Audi's, the Q5 stands out. Its body design comes across as powerful and athletic. It measures 15.19 ft in length and 6.23 ft in width, but only 5.35 ft in height. The tailgate, the fenders and the aluminum sill panel strips bear the hybrid badge. The radiator grille is painted high-gloss black, and the tailpipes feature chrome trims. The exclusive Arctic Silver, metallic paint finish is optionally available.
The optional xenon plus headlights are an elegant setting for the daytime running lights, comprising 12 daylight white LEDs each. The xenon plus headlights can also be combined with the adaptive light cornering light system.

Car tires...Performance, High Performance, and Touring tires--What is the difference between them?
May 11, 2009 by Alan | Posted in Other - Cars & Transportation
My present 1999 Toyota Solara SLE V6 has performance all season tires.(Bridgestone RE 92) What differences might I expect to find when driving my car, if I switch to HIGH PERFORMANCE--verses Touring tires--or perhaps another brand of performance tire like Goodyear etc? I need a set of new tires soon. I have been very happy with the RE 92 Bridgestones but they have not worn particularly well. Thanks.
Performance tires are specialty tires that customers choose to enhance the look and low speed traction of their vehicles.
High Performance tire design extends high speed handling and stability.
Touring tires feature enhanced performance blended with excellent ride quality.
High Performance tires will have more of a softer tread compounds for better traction with an emphasis on maximum contact patch. The Touring tires give you a better ride comfort and lower noise.
Cooper's Zeon ZPT are an excellent value in an H-rated high performance tire design.

One I actually can beat you prices at Tirerack.com
Two, the use of busty models all over the place may make mens hearts pound, but its a little bit of a cheap gimmick and turns off more serious buyers.
Three, I found that while loading the website, I couldn't actually use the tire selection tool. I had to wait for the whole site to load, and that took (over my FIOS connection) a whole two minutes. Two minutes is actually not bad compared to just 8 years ago, but 8 years ago gas cost a $1.29 too. I expect the Internet to be fast and easy, like the women you use for models, not slow and ponderous.
Get rid of the gimmicks, and make the tools load quicker.

I'd agree with Jake...are you selling tires or busty models? Automotive enhancements or chest enhancements? You need more glamour closeup shots of tires on cars or trucks....serious buyers want to see tread designs, wear comparisons, trade info, tire tips and info, tire/rim combo's, offset and wheel spacing charts,etc... And rock bottom/volume pricing that's guaranteed. More user friendly access to vehicle info.

Whats the difference between grand touring all season tires and high performance all season tires?
Dec 03, 2007 by Derrick W | Posted in Dodge
I'm thinking about buying some new tires for my dodge charger, and the orginal factory tires are grand touring tires. I went to tirerack and realized they also have high performance all season tires i could buy instead of the grand touring. My question is whats the difference between the two tires?I'm a performance guy myself, so instantly was leaning towards buying the high performance all season tires, but i don't know if it will benefit me more then the orginal grand touring tires.
grant touring ,or what some call the gt tire is rated for higher speeds and all season tires are good for all types of driving, like winter weather ,mud and snow conditions also, they will have a different tread design that will allow them to get more traction then the grand touring tire, good luck.

A Grand Touring tire will have a softer ride & probably better winter traction than the high performance tire all season tire.
Chris F | Dec 04, 2007
grand touring= nice soft quite ride good for long trips
performence= little louder harder ride but better at faster speeds and cornering.

is it ok to have all season tires in the front while i still have my high performance tires in the back?
Jul 29, 2009 by john | Posted in Safety
i have a 2008 gti, and my bridgestone potenza summer high performance tires are bald already! i live in northern VA so it snows in the winter. and i was wondering if it was ok to swap my front tires with all season tires, while keeping the back tires since they are still new almost.
It's not a good idea. The reasoning behind this is that you end up with 2 completely different handling characteristics between the front and rear axles. For just normal driving, you probably wouldn't notice any difference but what happens if you have to make an emergency type of manoeuvre? The car could become unpredictable as the rear tires would likely have more grip compared to the front tires.

should i get grand touring or high performance tires for my 2002 pontiac grand am?
Feb 22, 2009 by tony | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
i was looking at the michelin primacy's but the sales guy said i should get something more aggressive, but i want a smooth ride. what should i get?
im not looking for racing tires, i dont care about how fast my car is, i just want the best tires for my car.
The Michelin is a good choice. Name brands DO mean a lot. For the best information, use the "Tire Rack" web-site. They have tested nearly every available significant tire on the market, separating the chaff from the grain, so to speak. They graph the differences and make a decision easier to make. The Primacy has all around good manners and ride qualities. Your Grand Am is NOT a race car, you should try to get a good balance between comfort, longevity, and road grip. Bridgestone makes some excellent tires, as do Yokohama, Continental. Believeme, the "Tire Rack" will sort these things out for you. You can use their prices for leverage at local tire stores, too. Good Luck!!
