What is a good fuel management system or engine management system for a turbo conversion?
Oct 10, 2008 by Clinton/Obama 08' | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
The engine is a 5SFE, 2000 Toyota Camry, Im not asking for a lecture on its a family can, Blah Blah, I know
Im just looking for a good fuel managment system, Im thinkin an AEM wideband controller.
You need to do a LOT of research for that project. There are lots of toyota forums that would have the best info. If you haven't done anything yet, you need to consider building the block to handle the turbo or it may be short-lived, you need to think about how to strengthen your tranny and c-joints also, as well as upgrading your fuel system from your pump to your injectors. By the time you have researched those details you will have figured out the best fuel management system for your goals.

prelude vtec controller?
Dec 02, 2008 by sob_andizzle | Posted in Honda
i got a 99 honda prelude base model automatic
AEM cold air intake
Ceramic Headers
High Flow cat
Cat Back Exhaust..
im looking for something to give me some power aroudn $300-400
i was thinking about a Apexi Vtec controller but idk if it will give me any horsepower without any serious engine work.
Do you think i should put it in or should i get something else?
if so what should i get?
If your plugs are old you could look to upgrade them with wires to squeeze all the power you can out. That isn't too expensive. Also you could see if anyone makes under drive pulleys for your car. Also not too expensive. You could always look to upgrade suspension and brakes which many people overlook. Later down the line you could go with nitrous as a cheap way to go fast. Just remember when you get it, get a bottle heater, window switch, and Fuel pressure safety switch. But before you get into all that make sure you read up on it to make sure its for you. And remember weight reduction is free horsepower.
