Car burglar makes really bad choice
Of all the vehicles in all the parking lots in Kingston, a 27-year-old repeat car burglar just had to pick one owned by a cop.
Jeffrey R. Crawford ended up spending 78 days in pretrial custody at Quinte Detention Centre, and on Thursday was sentenced to a further 102 days in jail.
Crawford pleaded guilty in Kingston’s Ontario Court of Justice to the attempted theft of property from Kingston Police Const. Harry Brewer’s vehicle, illegal possession of a prohibited flick knife and possession of a prohibited weapon in violation of court orders specifically forbidding him from having such weapons.
Assistant Crown attorney Laurie Lacelle told Justice Rommel Masse that Brewer was playing hockey at Centre 70 on the night of Dec. 11 last year when he caught Crawford in the act.
He’d just come out of the arena with his equipment, she explained, and was walking to his Jeep, shortly after 10 p.m., when he noticed his tailgate was down.
He knew he hadn’t left it that way, she told the judge, and as he got closer, Brewer saw Crawford sitting in the front seat of his Jeep.

She added a fluffy tail and bunny ears to her get-up as well as her signature stripper heels and gold armband. She appears to be channeling a Playboy bunny with a little pink bow tie. Is she trying to get a chance to pose for the men's magazine?
Props for her shoot included the standard basket, decorated eggs and an assortment of vegetables. The vegetables looked a little out of place in the forest setting, but you better believe Courtney had a good reason for packing carrots along. Those carrots not only added to the Easter bunny look, but were used in several sultry poses.
