Gas prices hitting those who drive for a living
Gas prices are again steadily increasing and experts aren't predicting any ease at the pump anytime soon.
It's a problem we can all relate too but it's having a large effect on those who rely on driving to make a living.
Steve Lee is the owner of Clear View Mobile Windshield Repair and has been a traveling windshield repairman for about 10 years, making house calls and serving 18 local car dealerships across the Four States.
This is the first time the cost of fueling up has dipped into his profits.
"My primary source of getting to my customers is my vehicle and every place I go, I burn fuel," Lee says. "I haven't ever taken a raise in my charges for years... (but) I've seen my profits go down substantially."
Gas prices are the highest there have ever been at this time of year, and if prices continue to rise, Lee might be forced to raise some of his own prices.
"Just this last week, we've been kicking around the idea about raising our prices," Lee says. "We've not wanted to raise our prices just so we can stay competitive and maybe even the best price in town, but at some point it's going to have to happen so we can stay in business."
2013 Buick Enclave Teased Ahead of 2012 »
DETROIT — General Motors has released a teaser shot of the interior of the 2013 Buick Enclave, which debuts in early April at the 2012 New York Auto Show.
The darkened image shows ambient lighting and what appears to be a curvier cabin that cocoons the front-seat occupants.
GM said the Enclave will feature "industry-exclusive safety technology and modern design updates."
The Enclave is the companion vehicle to the 2013 GMC Acadia , which debuted in February at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show and goes on sale later this year. Presumably, the Enclave also will get the industry's first front center airbag, which was previewed on the Acadia. The Acadia gets new sheet metal, including a revised front fascia and wraparound rear glass, along with new 18- and 19-inch wheels.
GM has said that 2011 was Enclave's best sales year since its introduction five years ago, with nearly 50 percent of all new buyers coming to Buick from competitive brands.
