CABOOSE — Fly by Interstates: Sen. Jim Inhofe, a pilot and top Republican on the Environment and Public Works Committee, passed on a funny tale of a purchase made in Adam’s hometown of Clemson, S.C. Inhofe relayed this anecdote from about 10 years ago: “I remember going down there. I bought an airplane one time, an old World War II reconnaissance plane, and flew it back. They’re real slow. What I remember about that trip from Clemson to Oklahoma is that there were no radios in this old World War II plane, so I was following the Interstates. And I was doing fine until a Volkswagen pulling a boat passed me — then I knew it was going to be a long trip.”
** A message from Allstate: Car crashes cost America over $30 billion a year. Not to mention the devastating loss of life. Young drivers and their parents are the biggest victims. Car crashes snuff out an average of 4,000 young lives a year making it the #1 killer of teens. Congress has the power to help stop this national epidemic. Please support the inclusion of Graduated Driver Licensing provisions in the Transportation Reauthorization bill. GDL laws help novice drivers gain on-the-road experience gradually and avoid risky driving conditions. States with strong GDL laws have reduced fatal crashes among 16-year-old drivers by almost 40%. These laws are proven to save lives and billions of dollars a year. Why shouldn't we have a national GDL law? Our children deserve it. Our country needs it. Learn more today at Allstate.com/STANDUP. Gasoline prices at record high for this time of year
23.05.12
DAYTONA BEACH -- The average price for a gallon of regular gas Tuesday rose to $3.58 in Daytona Beach, up 27 cents from a month ago. It's the highest price recorded for this time of year since AAA began tracking gas price changes more than a decade ago.
And higher prices could hang around all summer, analysts say, because of consumer demand, a decline in supply and global fears.
Prices at some stations, including a Shell station at Nova Road and Bellevue Avenue, had hit $3.65 a gallon.
"I think it is crazy how high it is. This is just a drastic jump from Saturday," Port Orange resident Zach Flores said while getting fuel at the Citgo Station on Reed Canal Road in South Daytona, where the price was $3.63 for a gallon of regular. The college student said his parents have been picking up the cost for him to drive.
The national average was $3.44 on Tuesday, while statewide drivers paid an average of $3.57 for a gallon of regular gas.
"These are the highest prices we've ever seen" for this time of year, said Gregg Laskoski, a senior fuel analyst with Gasbuddy.com in Tampa.

Used to work as a call-out for AAA.
A search of SaferSys.org does not return any companies in CA.
The company directory at TransportReviews.com returns:
American Auto Relocation Professionals
American Auto Transportation
American Auto Transporters Inc.
American Pride Autoride
But none of the companies listing their address are based in California. American Auto Transportation (http://www.transportreviews.com/company/ american-auto-transportation.asp) does not have an address listed so they could possibly be the company you are searching for.

I want to ship my car to a different state but i dont know how save it is ??
i got this information online the company name is AAA Action A1 Auto transport and i want the to ship my car to another state but i am not sre how safe it is anyone know or had exper. with this company
i had this done about a year ago.. they are very careful with your car.. they put down any or every scratch or ding before
loading on the truck, and when delivered go over the list..
make sure you choose a company that is bonded and insured.
also have them load your car so it doesnt have to be taken off the truck and put back on to deliver another car, less chance of damage..
i had no problems and the service is great for 650.00 it should be...
good luck

I haven't had experience with that company specifically, but when we moved across the country a couple years ago they put both of our cars in with a HUGE truck that also contained all of our belongings. Everything worked out fine; not even a scratch on the cars. I think it's pretty safe... the best thing you can do is make sure the company has a policy of reimbursement if they happen to damage your car during the shipping process.

How is it illegal to store your own car in your own driveway!!!!!!!?
Jul 15, 2009 by Mr. Madashell | Posted in Other - Cars & Transportation
Yesterday, my birthday of all days, I recieved two "Notice of Public Nuciance" on both my fixer-upper projects that are both regestered PNO. Both cars will be towed in ten days if not moved. Covering, etc... the cars is not an option according to the ticketing officer. Well, I just got off the phone with AAA to get one of the cars towed to an auto repair shop next to my work, the agent denied the tow due to it's non current tags... saying the city will ticket the tow truck driver for transporting an unregestered car... BS! So I call the DMV to get information on a one day transporting pass to allow the tow truck driver to get it to the shop, $55... seriously California? Tell me I can't store my own cars on my own property (I own the house), then tell me I have to PAY you to get to towed, or you tow it for free to the inpound lot and charge me $400, plus "gate fee," plus one day pass fee...
Anybody have any ideas to help me beat this somehow? I'm at a loss for words right now really.
Almost all cities and towns have bylaws restricting non-licensed or non-operable vehicles being parked on your property. And that includes the back yard too. Your only options are to license them, or store them in your garage.
Unfortunately, unless your property is zoned commercial as a auto repair location, you can't store vehicles there.
Obviously someone in your neighbourhood has complained.
Sucks, but true. There are property standards that must be met.
And don't forget to add interest on a car loan, auto insurance, registration fees, inspection costs and depreciation. Tires, for example, cost more to make and transport than they did when materials and fuel was less a few years ago. and more »
AAA donated 100 of the trees planted. Motorists should wear protective eyewear and gloves when handling old batteries and wrap in a plastic bag to prevent the battery from leaking during transport. There are 272 AAA approved auto repair facilities and more »
