HERSHEY -- The crowd's hysteria slowly increased as fans in Giant Center realized what Kiski Area sophomore heavyweight Shane Kuhn was in position to do.
Kuhn, meanwhile, did his best to stay on top of Chambersburg senior Dawson Peck and wait for the official to slap the mat.
The moment finally came with 33 seconds left in the third period of their quarterfinal bout in the PIAA Class AAA Wrestling Championships on Friday. Kuhn (36-4), a first-time state qualifier, pinned Peck (11-1), a returning finalist, to put a second Kiski Area wrestler into the semifinals, which begin at 9 a.m. today. Junior 182-pounder Matt McCutcheon (39-1) was the first to clinch a spot, pinning Delaware Valley junior Martin Strenk in the second period.
McCutcheon will wrestle West Chester Rustin senior Tyler Wood (38-6) in the semifinals. Kuhn will meet Westmont Hilltop senior Josh Duplin (36-1).
Unlike McCutcheon, a returning place-winner and the top-ranked 182-pounder in Class AAA, according to Pennsylvaniawrestlingrankings.com, Kuhn entered yesterday uncertain of his chances for success.

MACON -- DeKalb County picked up a rare feat to end up the 2012 high school basketball season as Columbia completed a sweep of the Class AAA girls' and boys' state titles with victories on Saturday night in Macon.
The feat has been accomplished just 14 times in Georgia high school basketball history and Columbia has now done it twice (2010, 2012) joining Wesleyan which won both AA titles in 2008 and both A titles in 2010.
The No. 2 ranked Columbia Lady Eagles out-rebounded, out-shot and out-played No. 1 Washington County ending the Lady Hawks 63 game winning streak with a 57-33 victory in the Class AAA girls' state championship at the Macon Centreplex on Saturday to get the sweep started.
Senior Kadejah Vaughn ended her high school career in grand fashion scoring 19 points and dominating under the rim with 18 rebounds.
Vaughn scored 15 first half points to lead Columbia to a 33-16 advantage at the half. Vaughn had three points in the first quarter to go with five from Miah Spencer as the Lady Eagles built a 14-9 lead.

How do I get roadside assistance without being a member of AAA?
Mar 11, 2009 by Claudio F | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My wife and I share a car, she is a member of AAA, I am not. I am on her auto insurance so that I can use the car. Who am I going to call in case I have a problem with the car on the road?
For her it's $47 a year. to add you is $27. A bargain at twice the price.
vicki g | Mar 11, 2009
Add yourself to the policy.
lizarddog01 | Mar 11, 2009
Have your wife call AAA and put you on the roadside assistance card. It is a very reasonable.
shjf47 | Mar 11, 2009
Have your wife add you to her policy, if she loves you enough it shouldn't be a problem.

Is AAA legal to deal with bussiness such as transfering title of car?
Dec 22, 2007 by Xiaohong W | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I just bought a used car from a private seller who would be willing to transfer title in AAA. I know nothing about AAA. Is this legal? Can AAA deal with such bussiness?
Don't buy without a title. Once you have it, signed properly, take it to the DMV and do the necessary transfer. Not the AAA.
oklatom | Dec 22, 2007
Title transfer is the job of the state, usually handled by the county clerk's office or DMV. AAA is a private organization and, if they handle this, would most likely charge a fee.
terrellfastball | Dec 22, 2007
Most AAA's have a department that handles licensing and registration issues.
Their computer links directly that that of the DMV. The AAA can handle all the details for you and your friend, including licensing sales tax, plates, registration, etc.
in one stop. That's one of the reasons they're there.
Barry auh2o | Dec 22, 2007
This has to be done by the state. However, in some states, organizations like AAA have a contract with the state to provide these services. So yes, it may very well be legal where you are.

Do you have to have a AAA membership to get AAA insurance?
Feb 24, 2010 by Sparkle & Shine | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I got the insurance first and the lady asked me if I wanted it. I told her no and she never said anything about needing it. Now this guy is calling me from AAA saying that to continue my insurance I need to have the membership. I already paid all the dues and the fees and now they're telling me I have to have it! Is this true?
Yes, you have to have a membership to get the insurance. It makes you a member of the group that qualifies you for the lower rate (Group rate)

how long does it take to get your AAA membership benefits?
Dec 21, 2006 by M | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I'm going on a trip with my mom and younger brothers this saturday and my dad wants to buy AAA for us just in case there's car trouble/emergency. We don't want to be changing a flat in the the middle of the cold desert, especially if night falls.
If I buy a membership online is there a temporary card I can get/print right after I sign up and pay
or do they have to review the application and they get back to me in a couple of days?
The AAA card would be under mom + dad's names but my boyfriend wants to drive us in his car, if mom's also in the car and we have a car emergency in the my bf's car, will AAA also cover that?
I don't know if you can get a temporary card online. Even if this is possible, you don't want to risk any delays due to technical glitches.
I recommend calling your nearest AAA office and asking if you can have a card issued on the spot if your sign up in person. Benefits start once you sign up but with the holidays approaching you want to make sure you are in the system with an AAA representative in person.
Last I time I checked, all that was required was the AAA card member had to be a passenger. Ask & make sure. Family memberships are available in my state and might be worth the extra money.
My state's AAA (California) has 2 levels of benefits - limited & unlimited so you should inquire. Limited saves some money but unlimited offers more peace of mind.
Other benefit of AAA membership is free road maps & travel guides with discounts at certain hotels and retail establishments. Some offices will plot out your driving directions on a special map called a Trip-tik.
FYI, put the AAA in an easily accessible/viewed part of your wallets, store the emergency phone # in your cell phones & have a flash light handy so you can read your card info. at night.
Keep a car cell phone re-charger with you on the trip & check your cell charges. Give a copies of your itinerary to a few trusted friends & family members. Check in with them at regular intervals so they know your progress & whether or not you are on schedule.
