The Gold Report: Let’s start with the changing risk picture in the gold space. Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM:TSX; AEM:NYSE) and Kinross Gold Corp. (K:TSX; KGC:NYSE) are down by about 50% and 75%, respectively, from their 52-week highs. Both would once have been considered low risk. Are there no low-risk companies in the gold space today?
Michael Fowler: I think that is correct, Brian. Right now, any gold stock is fairly risky due to a combination of factors. First off, gold stocks and the gold price are very volatile. Second, gold mining is a tough business, subject to unforeseen circumstances. Despite the size of Agnico-Eagle, Kinross, even Barrick Gold Corp. (ABX:TSX; ABX:NYSE), I would attach a fair degree of risk to each.
TGR: If investors have to assume risk with gold equities, does it make sense to go with small- and mid-cap companies where the rewards can be higher?
MF: Yes, I think investors should be more focused on junior producers and, to some extent, explorers. That is where you will get the most gain.

Would I feel a greater performance difference putting a bigger exhaust on my sports car with AEM air intake?
Jul 29, 2009 by tatethegreat74 | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I already have the AEM air intake, but will putting a bigger sports exhaust muffler cause me to notice huge difference in power, torque and feel behind the wheel?
The Car....2000 Toyota Celica GT-S, 6 - Speed Manual.
You will definitely notice the difference depending on the size exhaust headers and exhaust pipes you run. I would personally go with 1 3/4 on the exhaust header and a 2 1/2 on the exhaust pipes. You will probably gain around 20-40 hp with that application depending on the catalytic converter and muffler you run. Hope this helps.

Huge....No.
You will feel a very slight, just noticeable increase, but not what your expecting.

It may give you another 5-10hp at high rpms that's about it. You won't notice it.

I have a 2005 Hyundai tiburon gt and am wondering how much horse power will i gain from a AEM cold air intake
You will probably gain 5-10 horsepower. If you are planning on adding an AEM exhaust you will probably gain another 5-10 horsepower.

That would depend on your location air temperature etc if your looking for the best horsepower increase for the money think about a small simple nitrous system thats a Sure 50 plus Horsepower increase a Cold air system increase would be 3 to 10 horsepower

AEM Cold Air Intake with a stock air filter?
May 01, 2008 by Jonathan | Posted in Honda
I have a 2007 Honda Civic LX, and I am thinking of getting an AEM Cold-Air Intake system installed. Thing is, is that I have a stock air filter/dust-pollen filter, and I was wondering if that's going to affect the peformance of the intake.
Am I better off getting an aftermarket Dry-flow filter (AEM or K&N) or keeping the filter stock with just the intake alone?
you wont be able to use the stock filter with the aftermarket intake, which comes with a filter anyway

I have an AEM intake on my 2000 Cougar, and the stock air filter was a K&N filter, but the filters are completely different. The AEM filter is a cone filter, your stock filter is most likely a box. so in that case, No. Most AEM filters are a closed cone, if you are looking for a little louder/more aggressive intake, Weapon R has open cone filters which have the same fittings as the AEM.

I use K&N on my A EM AIR intake system.

You will get some extra power from an dry-flow filter (not much but some).

What does an AEM cold air intake do for a car?
Jul 20, 2009 by Rawr | Posted in Honda
What does an AEM cold air intake do for a 1999 Honda Civic ex? How much horsepower and ft.-lbs of torque will increase? Is it true that gas mileage becomes slightly better? Thanks. (I'm new to cars so give me a break if I seem like a noob, because I am).
Brings in cooler air for more hp.

It won't.
Given that you don't have any other modifications, all you're doing is removing one restriction, but maintaining all the rest.
After drivetrain loss, you're going to see, at best, 2-3 horsepower at the wheels.
At best situation, with ideal driving circumstances, you may have increased your 1/4 mile time by .02 second. Which may be thrown off, based on driving ability.
