ATS arrests 4 Naxals in Mumbai hideout

Four alleged naxals, wanted in several cases in Gadchiroli, were arrested by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Thursday, after their alleged hideout in Dombivili was busted.

The four arrested are Dinesh Wankhede (30), Suman Gawde (40), Paru Patel (40) and Aseemkumar Bhattacharya (65). They will be taken into custody by the Gadchiroli naxal unit. The four belong to Korchi Dalam and are considered to be senior cadre.

The ATS also seized cash amounting to Rs 23 lakh from the hideout, making the bust significant as they believe the Dombivili address could have been a hub for routing cash to active workers across the western corridor of Thane, Mumbai and Gujarat.

The recoveries include suspected parts of country made weapons like aluminium pressure plates, 13 hollow iron pipes, nine iron pipe like rockets, seven other iron pipes, iron ball bearings. A laptop, printer, pen drive and identity documents were also seized.

At this stage we are keeping it open and giving them an opportunity to explain what these materials were being used as. There is sufficient background to these items as many similar things were found in 2005 from a factory in Gadchiroli, which used to make country made weapons, an officer said.

NBA Picks ATS: Portland Trail Blazers at Denver Nuggets

Betting Odds from Bookmaker

Portland

I honestly do feel bad for Trail Blazers fans. Just three seasons ago, they were being talked about as contenders. Now they are 18-16 and no longer have two of the three players that were expected to be the cornerstones of a possibly dynasty.

I’m speaking of course of Greg Oden and Brandon Roy. Oden is having the third surgery in his knee in the last 2.5 years and Roy was forced into retirement due to having no meniscus in both of his knees. He’s attempting a comeback, but since the Blazers used their amnesty clause on Roy, they have no commitment to bring him back, and he could go anywhere.

It might be fitting for Roy to return to Portland, but if a team is pegging their hopes on a gimpy star to make a difference, it doesn’t speak much of their prospects, does it?

They just signed Joel Przybilla, who had the option of going elsewhere, so now they have two fully mediocre centers to play the five spot in Przybilla and Camby. In all seriousness, Camby is still relatively effective, but now averages less than four points per game. That just isn’t the kind of production that Oden would have offered. While Oden was no offensive stud, he shot a high percentage due to a lot of dunking and would have easily posted a double double every year had he been healthy.

Do all Ford Explorers have tranny issues or is it limited to the V8 ATs?

Also is it all years or just certain ones?

Im looking at older V6 MT 4x4s and dont want tranny issues immediatly. Also I may end up having to go with an AT, so Id like to make sure its ok when mated to the V6.

So far I dont' think any of the answers have any validity. First Ford NEVER offered an V8 explorer with a manual transmission. Manual transmissions were only offered with the V6 engines. Second, the Manual transmission that was offered was NOT a T5. The T5 was used in MUSTANGS. The 5 speed used in the Explorer is the Mazda 5 speed also known as the M5OD. This was also used in all the F-series trucks and is a good manual transmission. Third, the "Troublesome" transmission you hear about is the A4LD. This is the same transmission you hear about when trans problems are mentioned in regards to Rangers and Especially in Aerostars. The A4LD was only used for 91-94 models. In 95 Ford changed to the 4R55E a much better transmission, The only thing ford could have done better with this transmission was put on a good trans cooler. This transmission does not like to tow. 90% of warranty issues on this trans are directly related to retards towing with the transmission set in the Overdrive position and burning them up. In 96 Ford offered the 5.0 and the ONLY transmission offered with the V8 is the 4R70W. ALL V6 models used the 4R55E. The 4R70W is a newer trans based on the C4 transmission. It replaced the AOD/AODE which is based on the Ford FMX Transmission 4R70W's are not very prone to problems they handle power and towing easily and the V8 explorers came with a decent cooling system for the transmission. The 4R70W is also the trans used when the switch from 5.0 to 4.6 was made and is STILL used behind the V8's today. The 4R55E was jsut recelty replaced with the 5R55E this is a 5 speed automatic and hasn't been around for very long. as it sits thie 5R55E is holding up fine with no problems although it is only offered behind the 4.0 V6. If you want to keep safe from transmission problems don't get a 91-94 with an automatic. This one problematic transmission has left the Explorer namebadge with an unjust blackmark.

yes u can mate them successfully may have to use adapte between the engine and bellhousing.

no it is not limited to the v-8s. most of the v-6 as well. I have changed several of these. they dont have enough cooling capacity. if you are going to use one of these you should look into a large external cooler setup

ford transmissions are solid if you take care of them. I have blown up several t-5's in racing with cars with 450-860 hp before I went to a c-4 automatic and it is a solid tranny. the only drawback its a three speed. The aode is o.k., but when you go past the basic car hop ups, some attention is needed. if you need anything further e mail me

Actually we had better luck with the v-8 autos than the v-6s....

There are some issues and yes it goes back the whole stretch... but I'd say 5-10% max of owners have had issues.... before you buy, have a shop look at the vehicle and check the fluid.... brand new fluid or burnt fluid and I'd walk away...

The manuals are very hard to find as it was a rarely ordered item I find...

Fords weak point has always been their automatic transmissions but its still cheaper and easier to fix than a blown chevy engine or mopars electrical system.

The manual transmissions on the V-8's are very bullet proof.
The manual transmissions on the V-6's are a totally different animal. They had more then one supplier and some were weaker the others.
I don't know how to tell which ones are in what.
The AOD transmissions suffer from owners not how to use them. So given the choice I would take a V-6 with an automatic and a V-8 with either.

had an '02 and lost the tran in two yrs
traded in for '03 and no problem yet...
both v6

Is the phrase 'GO AHEAD' no longer in force???? (for pilots or ATS people)?

Hi I have heard that according to ICAO ANNEX 10 VOL II AMDT 82 the phrase 'GO AHEAD' is no longer in force. The thing is that I don't have this amendment. Can anyone help me confirm this information please? I will appreciate it.

I think it was discontinued following the big accident where two 747s, one from KLM and the other from (i forget) collided on the runway.
the KLM pilot thought he was cleared to takeoff and smashed into another 747 exiting the same runway.

500 or so people perished

I don't have the amendment either, but I know the phrase has been discontinued as an invitation to read back clearance after someone took it for permission to take off.

It is still standard phraseology in the US, according to the 2/14/08
Pilot/Controller Glossary

GO AHEAD- Proceed with your message. Not to be used for any other purpose.

Also in the FAA's AVGO.......
Section Four - Aviation Phraseology
Go ahead - State your request

Amdt says..

CHAPTER 5. AERONAUTICAL MOBILE SERVICE —
VOICE COMMUNICATIONS

5.2 Radiotelephony procedures
. . .
5.2.1.5.8 The following words and phrases shall be used in radiotelephony communications as
appropriate and shall have the meaning ascribed hereunder:
. . .
GO AHEAD “Proceed with your message.”
Note.— Not used whenever the possibility exists of misconstruing
“GO AHEAD” as an authorization for an aircraft to proceed. The
phrase “GO AHEAD” may be omitted and, in its place, a response
made by using the calling aeronautical station’s call sign followed by
the answering aeronautical station’s call sign.

Where can i find the IAT(Intake Air Temperature) Sensor or ATS in my 2000 Chevy impala?

i heard it was either in the filter box or somewhere along the air intake duct by the mass air flow sensor.

if im not mistaking i think its in the air filter housing...

its in the hose between the airbox and the throttle body

Air tube intake to air filter, there is a 4 wire connector and a 2 wire connector the only 2 sensors on the air cleaner tube the 2 wire grey connector is the IAT the 4 wire is the mass air flow sensor

It is located on intake duct after the mass air flow sensor. It hasa 2 wire grey connector on it.

Is kwikfit cheaper and better than ats euromaster for servicing a car?

ask around and fine a small garage that is near you and hopefully you can trust but try to get it on recommendation

What does ATS light on a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am mean?

ATS stands for Advanced Traction system. Pontiac put that feature on those cars to be used all the time. It should be turned on and off with a button on the side of the gear stick.
