Man Ditches Old Friend for Internet Experience

Light.

Perhaps the one thing that spoke the loudest was when the plastic driver’s door handle broke. A Toyota dealer wanted $350 to replace it. I found a body shop that did the job for $175. It was only a lousy piece of plastic!

I had owned Toyotas my entire adult life. I did have a Ford and a Dodge (company cars) and a Chevy and Ford take-home unmarked police cars. But actually owning a car—it had always been a Toyota, starting with a 1968 Corona, until last week.

But there's more.

I have a general rule on cars—10 years or 200,000 miles. I broke the rule with my 2000 Camry, it was under 170,000 miles but well over 10 years. It had been a good friend. A worthwhile friend.

When I was a sportswriter, it drove me tens of thousands of miles on the East Coast, taking me to baseball games in the spring and summer, football games in the fall and college basketball games in the winter.

Besides writing, I worked up to 60 hours a week in law enforcement. I used the Camry to conduct surveillances. The most popular model of car in the country at the time (Camry) did not stick out like my government-issued white Chevrolet with special license plates.

Outdoor Power Equipment Goes Gas-Free: Makes Way To Wind Energy

What does the new gas-free motor technology mean for portable outdoor power equipment?

Well a couple of things. One, the Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) market for portable or handheld moving products is around $15B . Second, zero emissions, less noise with no loss of power to trim or blow – all of that inside of a market ready for a makeover.

Lincoln Jore, President and Founder, Core Outdoor Power, has been quoted in the past saying the OPE market has missed the mark on developing alternative energy products that meet performance expectations. He believes the company is onto something with their new gas-free product line and he might be right.

The hybrid power cell in the CORE motor technology makes it capable of storing and delivering large amounts of power in a very small package. Combining these technologies together creates an environmentally clean line of products capable of consuming a large portion of that $15B outdoor power equipment market, which has historically been dominated by two-cycle gas engines.

blower motor ...........?

what are some of the signs that your blower motor may be going out? ....other than it not working at all.

they will make a lot of noise and squeal sometimes, and often they will speed up and slow down by their self, sometimes they wont come on right away when you turn it on ,and will blow a fuse in it sometimes ,those are just the most common signs of it,good luck.

It makes unusual noises or smells...doesn't run smoothly...

noise.

make sure its not a switch or a blower motor resistor (only works on high speed setting)

Weak air flow, "squealing" or other noises coming from under the dashboard where is located(usually behind the glove box), or working intermittently.

The signs are simple. Either it works or it doesn't. Motors having noise in them doesn't mean that its going out soon.

smoking when it first comes on, you can smell it!

you will hear a squealing noise from the motor

What is a blower motor resistor/how can you test/tell if it is no good ?

How difficult is it to change a blower motor in a 2002 jeep?

My blower motor in my 2002 jeep wrangler burned out. I have changed a blower motor out in a Ford Explore before, but the motors location on the jeep is inside the vehicle as opposed to the Explorer. Is this something I can do myself, or does it require special tools and training?

To Remove:

NOTE: The blower motor is located below the right side of the instrument panel. The blower motor can be removed without having to remove the instrument panel or the HVAC housing.

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
Remove the screws that fasten the PCM to the mounting bracket on the engine compartment side of the dash panel.
Unplug the connector for the blower motor wire harness.
Remove the screws that fasten the blower motor and wheel assembly to the HVAC housing.
Turn and tilt the blower motor unit as needed for clearance to remove the blower motor and wheel from the HVAC housing.
To Install:

NOTE: Failure to install the blower motor assembly correctly could result in an air leak or the blower motor assembly becoming completely disengaged from the HVAC housing.

Line up and install the blower motor into the HVAC housing.
Install and tighten the screws that fasten the blower motor to the HVAC housing. Tighten the mounting screws to 20 in-lb (2.2 Nm).
Plug in the connector for the blower motor wire harness.
Position the PCM to the mounting bracket on the dash panel. Install and tighten the screws that fasten the PCM to the dash panel mounting bracket.
Reconnect the negative battery cable.
Test the blower motor for proper installation by turning the blower motor speed to high and checking around the outer edges of the blower assembly for air leaks. If any air leaks are found, reinstall the blower motor.

2003 Ford Explorer heater blower motor only work in the high position whenever the outside temp drops below 32?

Whenever the temp drops below freezing, the blower motor need to be turned to high to turn on. Once the blower motor starts, then the speed can be reduced and it operates as normal. Also, until the blower motor is turned to high, the air bag warning light on the dash is lit. Once the motor is turned to high, the air bag light goes out.

The internal thermostat is defective and needs replaced. This is different from the thermostat in the radiator.

Where is the blower motor on 1995 jeep wrangler?

I just had a new alternator put on my jeep. Now my heater blower does not work. I feel the heat, just not blowing. Every time I put a fuse in, it blows. Is the blower motor bad or the switch?
Most importantly, where IS the blower motor located?
Thanks.

blower motor should be located in the engine compartment on the passenger side right below the windshield. should be a round black housing about the size of a tin can
