A modern classic from Audi is making a comeback: The third-generation RS 4 Avant combines potent performance with a high level of everyday practicality. It’s 4.2-litre V8 produces 331 kW (450 hp); the seven-speed S tronic and quattro permanent all-wheel drive transfer that power to the road.
The Audi RS 4 Avant uses the same high-revving, normally aspirated V8 engine that powers the RS 5 Coupe. The 4,163 cc powerplant produces 331 kW (450 hp) at 8,250 rpm for a specific output of 108.1 hp per liter. Its maximum torque of 430 Nm (317.15 lb-ft) is available from 4,000 to 6,000 rpm. The responsive V8 with its red-painted cylinder head covers accelerates the RS 4 Avant from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 4.7 seconds on its way to a governed top speed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph). This can be increased to 280 km/h (173.98 mph) upon request.
Hand-built at Audi’s plant in Györ, Hungary, the 4.2 FSI engine combines its impressive power with exemplary efficiency, consuming on average less than 11 liters of fuel per 100 km (21.38 U.S. mpg).
Safety officials have ramped up their investigation of 2002 and 2003 Jeep Liberty SUVs because of reports that the vehicles’ airbags may suddenly inflate when there has been no collision.
The agency said it has received 87 reports of inadvertent airbag deployments that resulted in 50 alleged injuries. Injuries included cuts, bruises and burns to the upper body.
In 42 cases, the driver-side front airbag deployed unexpectedly and in 45 incidents both the driver and front passenger bags inflated without a crash. Sometimes the problem occurred as the vehicles were started. In other cases the bags reportedly deployed as Jeeps were driven on the road.
NHTSA, which is working with Jeep parent company Chrysler Group LLC, said the problem has been traced to an electrical flaw that may cause part of the airbag-control system to fail. However, there is still no clear reason for the airbag defect. This type of investigation sometimes leads to a safety recall.

Control Arm Replacement?
Nov 21, 2008 by jimntucson | Posted in Chrysler
I have a 2006 Chrysler Sebring Convertible. I have been to the local dealership 6 times and it's now under lemon law litigation. Here's the problem; at very low speeds when making a sharp turn in any direction while applying brakes at the same time I get a very very noticable noise coming from directly in front of the driver. The noise can be felt and is comparable to someone taking a crow bar and trying to bend iron....if you can imagine that. The dealership replaced the upper control arm but this did nothing. They told me everything else was in "sound mechanical condition". Everytime I gave them a suggestion on what it could be they said it could not be. They also referred to a 2005 service bulletin which involved using rivots at 9 specified locations, which also did nothing to alleviate the noise. The car had 35,000 miles when I first took it in. Does anyone have any suggestions on what it could be?? Lower control arm perhaps??
bad ball joints creek like a rusty gate when dried out/worn..cceeeerraaaccckkk also a broken strut spring or mount...often you cant see the break until its removed...[probably why they dont want to start replacing things]

it is the upper control arm bushings or the lower bushings. have them replaced !

Why is my steering wheel turning all the way to the left?
Mar 14, 2010 by P | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I have a bad shock and spring on the front end of the driver side and a bent upper control arm, after i took a sharp u-turn and and hit a pothole my steering does a 360 to the left and it starts moving itself to the left.
Because if the upper control arm is bent to the left the pressure will be on the inside of the left tire and the outside of the right tire making your tires turn to the left. you may also have a bent tie-rod which will cause this

your tires are gonna last about a week, you think you might need professional help?you can change the parts yourself, but your gonna need tools.some tools can be rented, but its still gonna need alignment after.word of advice, when you are gonna hit a pothole, slow down as much as possible, then remove your foot from the brakes just before you hit it.braking and hitting a pothole can leave your frontend in the pothole as youve just learned.

Rattleing in 99 Ford Explorer Sport. Replaced almost entire front end and still there. Any suggestions?
Aug 22, 2006 by scottinfwb | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I've replaced the upper and lower ball joints(both sides), control arm(drivers side), shocks(both sides), tie rods(both sides) and it still rattles like it's going to fall apart on me. I've tightened everything down. Every mechanic I take it too just tells me to replace the ball joints which I've done already. They were done less then 2 months ago. Nobody seems to be able to figure out just what is making it rattle so any suggestions on things to look at or try would be appreciated at this point because frankly I'm at a loss and I don't want to be driving and all of a sudden crash because my wheel decides to come off or something.
well check the sway bar bushings, also check the bushings for the brake caliper mounting. check all the mounting point for the front axle. check the front body mount bushings.

Corvette Experts, hit behind right front tire, Repairable?
Feb 19, 2009 by garygvalentine | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
City accident relatively low speed, BMW hit the brakes and still hit Corvette behind right front tire, hit plastic slotted grill, cracked hood and passenger door. Being fiberglass, was the subframe damaged and can it be straightened?
I am looking to buy, but keep my cars forever and don't want to have problems 15 years from now (wife backed into a parking garage 16 years ago and now our station wagon's tailgate door isn't closing properly, bought a Fiat spider 16 years ago that had been hit over the left front tire and it chewed up two sets of upper/lower control arm bushings and the drivers door doesn't fit anymore and has broken the hinges).
Anyone experienced in this please help, thanks in advance.
I wouldn't worry about the frame and any thing fiberglass can be fixed if you want to dole out the cash so I don't know where you live but when i was building my chevelle the speed shop i went to there was a corvette place right by it and ive seen those guys take some seriously cracke up vettes and roll em out better than new .if you got the cash anything is possible.
I feel ridiculous writing that, given that I walked away with no physical injuries besides a bit of bruising to my upper arm, but the margin was as slender
