How to Install Monroe Reflex Shocks 1999 GMC Suburban 2WD?
Feb 15, 2006 by pedal | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
for the front: take your tire off.(perfect time to check you breaks) remove the upper shock mounting nut(if you cut it off or break it off it is much quicker) underneth take off the 2 bolts that attach the lower end of the shock to the control arm and the shock should pull out rather easly. to install the new ones do that in reverse.
for the rear: remove the nuts and bolts that attach the shock to the frame bracket and then remove the nut and bolt that got through the axle bracket. pull shock out. to install do this in reverse. For future referance buy a Haynes book...wonderful to have

Monroe Reflex Shocks?
Jul 28, 2009 by Lance | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I want to replace the front shocks on my 01 Ranger 4X4..I have looked at Blisten shocks whick I think have too rough a ride for me and also KYB Monomax and Gabriel Ultra..The KYB's are too expensive I think, so I think it is between the Gabriel and the Monroe and I think I like the Monroe a little more because of the price quality ratio... and the type of ride I am looking for...what do you guys think? Any other shocks that you might recommend for a 4x4 but mostly smooth highway driving. with occasional dirt roads
I wholeheartedly disagree with your choice of shocks. KYB's don't cost any more than Gabriel Ultra or Monroe Reflex. KYB's have roughly the same valving arrangement as the above mentioned Monroe and Gabriel.
Although KYB's are made in Japan they are a world better then the US produced Monroe or Gabriel. Many Chevrolet pick-ups have Bilsteins standard from GM.

Monroe Reflex or Sensatrac Shocks?
Apr 02, 2009 by Nick B | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Which shocks would be better for my 98 s10 ext cab? Monroe's Reflex or Sensatrac shocks? And should i get the regular truck shocks or the monotube shocks? It's a 2WD truck but I drive it everywhere and make a decent number of longer distance drives (2-4hrs)
Go with the reflex its a truck / suv shock .
Autotech101 | Apr 02, 2009
The one you can get the cheapest. They are both great.
Dr Holt | Apr 02, 2009
Neither.
For not much more $; you can get KYB's
They will outlast the truck.
They are first rate.

monroe reflex shock & struts?
Dec 25, 2009 by jomilo | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Have a toyota 4 runner 2002 should I use Monroe Reflex shocks & struts. I got good pricing at Sears.Should I go ahead and get them? I need to replace what I have
Monroe shocks and struts are quality parts, use them. Sears sometimes has good prices on tires and shocks. If you are replacing struts on the front make sure you get an alignment.

are monroe shock absorbers for 2001 Jeep grand cherokee ok or is there a better brand?
Mar 29, 2007 by ebc_iv | Posted in Jeep
Looking to install new shocks on my Jeep GC Ltd and was wondering if the Monroe Reflex shocks are a good option?
Monroe shocks have been around for a long time . i have used them and recommended them as good replacement shocks. they are gonna be more expensive than the bargain priced shocks, but you get what you pay for. there are probally better shocks out there, but then again how much are you willing to pay? Monroe are one of the best shocks in their price range.
