What Rancho shock model # fits my 1988 Samurai.?
Aug 01, 2007 by Mow Your Own Lawn | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I want to buy a set of Rancho 9000x shock absorbers. I cant find the right model # on the website. My samurai has a spring over axle lift.
Go to their catalog at http://www.gorancho.com/html/products/do cs/07shocks.pdf
RS 5000
RS 5167 Front and 5110 Rear 9000 series 99119
You will need to know the total lift amount and adjust accordingly to over all length. You can email Rancho from their site for additional help.
Good Luck

What is the best brand of shock absorbers for Jeep?
May 27, 2009 by Alex B | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I'm stuck between Rancho, Skyjacker, and Edelbrock. I'm looking for better handling around corners and at high speeds. I don't really go off-roading unless you count the occasional driving in a field.
Bilstein, Koni and KYB are light years ahead of the three you've mentioned. Totally forget Monroe & Gabriel

Edelbrock is very good if you do a lot of street driving. KYB and Gabriel are great.

I have a 1997 Dodge Ram, 1500 4WD. I need new shocks. What are the best brands? is bilstein any good? I like Rancho gas filled, are they decent?
People who know, please help me out... let me know some good manufacturers and good shocks to buy.
FYI, I go offroading sometimes and live on a bumpy street so I want some good quality, heavier duty shocks. thanks!!!
Hey thanks alot guys!
Bilstein shocks are great.
I chase for a class 1 off road race buggy for the Baja 1000, 500 and 250. We run Blackhawks on the car and 9100 shocks on all the support vehicles.
Bilstein shocks are rebuild-able and can be custom valved for your specific application
