DETROIT, May 1, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --
Ally Financial is increasing wholesale credit lines for auto dealers to take advantage of the U.S. auto market momentum. In the first quarter of 2012, Ally proactively expanded wholesale limits for more than 40 percent of its U.S. dealer clients.
"The flexibility in our credit line administration not only supports dealers, but also aligns with accelerated manufacturer production levels," said Bill Muir, president of Ally Financial. "We are seeing strong demand for increased inventory financing for both new and used vehicles as dealers seek to fully stock their lots and maximize their sales potential."
Ally attributes the market momentum to steady improvements in the economy, the ample availability of consumer credit, the interest in new and refreshed products coming to market, and pent-up demand from consumers looking to replace their aging vehicles.

What is the easiest state that will give me an out-of-state WHOLESALE auto dealers license?
Oct 08, 2009 by auced6371 | Posted in Buying & Selling
I am looking for the easiest way to get a Wholesale dealers license. I already own a engineering company and I need to get cars to develop parts, want to go to auctions. I am not going to get a lot or any of that other junk. I have heard that wholesale license is the easiest way to get into an auction. I live and Company is based in Indiana.
I am interested in a wholesale license, not a retail license.
I am not going to get a lot nor do I want to.
Thanks
The reason for the out of state license request is that Indiana requires a LOT for wholesale, I tried to call the DMV and they are rude and have already have me P'O'ed so I would rather give another state my business now.
Even though Indiana is difficult, that would in the long run be your best option. Every state has their own list of requirements like having an office in the state, posting a surety bond, taking classes and mandatory insurance. All DMVs are rude because than can get away with being that way and there is nothing you can do about it. If you really want to get a license somewhere else try Wisconsin. They are not that far away and are supposed to be lenient.

The biggest impediment is the mandatory garage liability insurance which runs $2500-3500 per year.
Not sure why you would want an out of state license. That's just going to make the auction question you and your checks unless they have an out of state address.

If i get a wholesale auto dealer from out of state ,like in Indiana, is it possible to h have access to all?

If i get a wholesale auto dealer license from out of state ,like in Indiana, is it possible to have access to all the auto auctions across US (public and online). Is there any law that will counter safe operation in my state of residence. assuming someone is based in GA,FL or any of the south eastern states
If you get your dealer license, you would go to your local auction (Mannheim, Adessa, etc) and have them sign you up for an Auction Access ID. That ID allows you access to all major auctions in the US. It automatically registers you with all the major auction houses. You will receive an ID in the mail with a barcode on it, you scan it when you walk into the sale and you are good to go.
Laws regarding the resale of those vehicles will always be dictated by the state/county in which they are sold.

How do I get Auto Dealers to list their inventory on my Website?
Sep 01, 2006 by DealerCrossing | Posted in Buying & Selling
I am launching a new website exclusively for auto dealers. This website is strictly for auto dealers to trade wholesale inventory between each other. To get it off the ground, I need some initial dealers with a decent amount of wholesale inventory to list their vehicles on the website. Then I can attract other dealers to buy their inventory which attracts more wholesale inventory. But I need those first 6 to 12 dealers in a regional area to get the ball rolling. What are the best ways to find these dealers? Calling them one at a time will take too long.
BTW - The website is currently free to use for the next 2 or 3 months. After that dealers will pay a small monthly fee for using it. There are no listing fees or transaction costs.
Retail is what dealers need because of floor plan the inventory cost interest rate and dealership bricks and mortar. Not to mention parts and service. Your pushing a rock up hill dealers trade cars all the time. Each State Automobile Dealers Associations are "the old boys club" Unless you grew up with these old guys forget about breaking into the business practices of car dealers. Computer Inventory dealer locator services from GM,Nissan,Ford and others are free so any expence other than the one driver two cars moved the old guys won't pay

tell them what you can do for them and how it'll benefit them, get to know sales managers and their customers...think of it from their point of view, and you'll have your answers

If i get a wholesale auto dealer license from out of state ,like in Indiana, is it possible to ship to save?
Apr 08, 2010 by yankieby | Posted in Buying & Selling
If i buy a car at the auction ( online or public),with my out of state wholesale dealer license, is it possible to arrange or do international shipping without taking delivery after winning the bid order to save cost
It's going to depend entirely upon the laws of your state, the terms and conditions of the auction, and the export and import regulations between the United States and the destination country where you want to ship the vehicle.
Whatever else may be possible, you're going to have to take ownership of the vehicle, if only on paper. There'll be no circumventing taxes.
Best of luck. I hope this helps.

are there any auto dealers in europe needing to purchase american cars at wholesale?
Apr 30, 2007 by Rich C | Posted in Buying & Selling
I'm a dealer in the US interested in exporting good used cars to Europe to dealers ......
word of advice.. make sure you get at least what you paid for the car in cash before you ship it. There are so many scams going on we stopped recommending exporting. We can get scamed just as well here and still have the abilty to back out of the deal at the last minute and still have the car. We had a client loose 600 vehicles some where between port newark and russia. The customer on the other end canceled the letter of credit claiming the cars never arived. Unless your ready to set up your own office over there and one here so you can control the transport don't do it. Or if your working exclusivley with their money. I am sure if you keep posting things like this the wolfves will come out of the wood work.
