Car Buying?

1. Will paying cash or check for a used car save me from hidden charges and other fees which happens when you finance a car?
2. I would appreciate if someone with car-buying experience help me out or can give me really good tips/advice on how to negotiate with a car dealer.
By paying cash, the only fee you avoid will be finance charges. The actual vehicle sales numbers should not change. I will give you a link to an actual buyers order which you can bring with and fill out when you buy the car. It will expose all, if any, fees the sales associate is charging you.

As far as negotiations, the best thing to do is to offer a commitment to purchase based off vehicle facts and comparison. I will give you a link for this also. You can email me if you have more questions. Good Luck.

Unless you buy a car that is "for sale by owner" you are going to pay at least 2,000 dollars more than the car is worth.

I work in a Toyota Store, I sell both new and used cars. It really doesn't matter if you pay cash or check, they would much rather you finance, because that is where the dealer makes money on the backside, from the interest or selling the loan.
Your best defense form being ripped of is to educate yourself, or have someone who is educated work on your behave. First of what car do you want, what do you need it for, what is important to have in your next car? research the car of your choice. Is it a good and reliable car? Like a Toyota ( I am Biased, but with good reason). Know what cars, like the one you are looking for are worth. like in sites like KBB and Edmunds. #1. don't be afraid to walk away, unless of course you got a good deal, and the only way you will know this is with education. You can email me with you prospects and I will tell you what I think. toyotaconsultant@gmail.com

the car i have right now is giving me major problems so i was thinking about buying a new 1. problem 1 i still owe about 4k on the car i have now 2 im not working cause im going 2 school full time n am surviving on financial aid and loans. is there a way of getting a car w/o a job is someone cosigns?
Any financial institution that is going to lend you money wants to know how you are going to be able to pay back the loan! You do not need a job, but you need a steady souce of income! It appears that you have neither!
Some may consider the loan with a co-signer, but it is going to be hard!
Good luck!

Of course, if someone co-signs...

Car buying?

Is buying my first car off ebay a good idea?
Yes, because I know at least in my case I don't have much money to buy a first car and you can definitely get a good car from the price. I would suggest getting it from a dealer off of there though because it'll probably come with some kind of warranty and you know it'll be clean.

no
devyn | Apr 23, 2007
No not at all!! Just don't do it it is way too much of a gamble even if you could possibly get a good deal , the chances are VERY slight. Rather look at private sellers in the paper.

Don't you dare. You will be cheated. Go to a dealer and take with you all info you think might be on a credit application including names, phone numbers, and addresses of personal references. If you work with an experienced salesman and sales manager, you can have anything you want.

For car buying questions, how many respondents are actually the car company in disguise?
Nov 04, 2007 by Revolutionista barista | Posted in Buying & Selling
I was wondering if Yahoo tests the validity of the answers provided by respondents to car buying questions i.e. are these people really speaking from experience or are they telling me to buy a certain car brand because they actually work for that car company? planning on buying a car, and searching for car buyer feedback, but some of these answers seem specious at best.
There is definitely a mix of both. It's unfortunate to see answers like "You have 3 days to return a car" because there is no truth to that. There are of few answerer's, myself included, who try to look at as many questions as possible to look at the answers. Although no one knows everything about cars, it's not usually to hard to see the bogus answers. I always give thumbs up to any answer that I feel is correct to help the asker when it comes time to following the advice.
There are a few people that are very knowledgeable in the buying and selling category, such as Fire4511, Jay, and Ray. I seem to give them a lot of thumbs up, however there are also answerer's that pop in here and there with very educated answers, which also get thumbs up.
This is a great question, and no, Yahoo does not test the validity of answers, but you can use thumbs down as well as even report a poster, locking them out of that particular question. This question deserves a star.

How much do you save on a car buying in December versus Summer?
Nov 13, 2009 by Paul | Posted in Buying & Selling
This isn't factoring in the New Car Credit. I know that a good time to buy a car is in December, but how much better is it than buying in the summer, dollar-wise?
Used car values will remain unchanged.
New cars- In the summer-late September, you can usually get good deals on current year model cars as lots are receiving the newer model cars. If you wait a few more months, you may get them cheaper if they haven't sold yet. Plus, you got memorial day, 4th of july, and labor day deals that can help.
buying in december isnt the best. Its not bad, but theres no specials or anything
