Falling in love can be dangerous, especially when it's at a used car dealership. Bethany Porter's heart went all a-flutter once she laid eyes on a black '99 Saab 9-3 convertible with 98,000 miles on it sitting at the Geoff Rogers Autoplex in St. Peters, Missouri, home of the "price smash." She was ready to dump her 2001 Nissan Pathfinder for it. They had gone 175,000 miles together, good miles, but she was ready for a little more thrill in the driver's seat. Her human lover, her husband, cautioned her against jumping in too eagerly as they walked into the dealership... So did having stars in her eyes leave her burned behind the wheel? And how can what she learned help you save big on your next car purchase? I reached out to two car salesman experts to get the behind-the-scenes scoop on how the deal went down.
I also contacted Geoff Rogers Autoplex. Chuck, the manager, confirmed the trade-in happened for the amounts Bethany described. The salesman she and her husband worked with was no longer there and Chuck did not make available any other employee who might have knowledge of the sale. Requests for comment about the specifics of the negotiation process as described by Bethany were not returned.

It might not be a bad proposition for the dealers, either. Instead of laying out money up front for posting their wares, as dealers do on eBay Motors , AutoTrader or Cars.com , the dealers pay only when a sale is made. Granted, at $350, the fee is not inconsiderable. But a listing on MojoMotors may also earn more visitors to a dealership because shoppers are exposed to more inventory than they would be if they visited the Web site of one store. If shoppers don’t see what they want, they are still more likely to return and look again.
“It’s a great set-up,” Daniel Fernandes, the e-commerce manager for Toyota and Ford of Greenfield and six other dealerships in western Massachusetts, said in an interview. Comparing Mojo to other online shopping sites like Autobytel or Cars.com, which charge about $20 a lead, he said, “If we don’t sell, they don’t get a dime from us. It’s the way everybody should do it.”
The site has been working with 78 dealers in New England, but Mr. Harmon noted that it began operating in Dallas earlier this month. The company will expand next to Florida, starting with Tampa, St. Petersburg and Orlando. Searches are broken down by metro areas and can be set for up to 100 miles away, but no further.

What is my car worth; or where can I find used car values?

I am trying to find used car values for Okinawa, Japan. Love KBB, but no international values are listed! Does any know of a similiar site that works for overseas? They have a ton of cars here that we dont have in the states, so there's no way for me to tell if I'm getting a good deal or not. Thanks for any info you can give me!
Have you looked at resources for the military in Okinawa? They have a few sites in English that might be handy.

I dont know of any that are on-line but you can try two things...first try ebay to get a guideline for your vehicle and what they are selling for and second go to your local library and see if they would have a book of car values........

Where can i find used car body parts?
Feb 27, 2009 by april4 | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
My son wrecked my car a few weeks ago and i only had liability. The estimate to fix it is $4300. No way i can afford it! Does anyone know where i can find 2 used passenger doors for a 2002 Toyota Camry LE? I need both in silver. I live in East Tennessee
Any websites i can go on to get them?
I suggest you to search for the car parts you need from http://www.automotive-online.com search box, you will get the list of suppliers with complete contact details. You can even send free inquiry to any supplier directly from this website.

look in the yellow pages for wrecking yards or pickapart.

Have you tried googling the salvage yards in your area? They usually have an abundance of car parts and will cut the parts for you; but then you'd have to get them installed. Sometimes they'll bring it to the install place also.

A junkyard will be happy to assist you. Some will allow you to pull your own parts or for an extra charge will pull it for you.
just half-inch (pinch- or- steal) them off another 2002 Toyota Camry LE and spray paint them silver.

on other peoples cars! lol!
no seriously tho, try searching car-part.com, most of the junkyards listed on there will ship you the parts.

Where can I find used car dealers that will finance on site?
Aug 30, 2006 by flybaby | Posted in Buying & Selling
I have a steady work history (18+ years in same position), good income (45K), but bad credit history. I need a car for around $6K but cannot find a dealer who will let me pay each month to him/her. I would even give post-dated checks. I am in the same house as I have been for 18 years -- not going anywhere, and I want to finance for only 12-15 months. I am near New Orleans. Can anyone help? My situation is a difficult one, but my credit situation does not tell the whole story. Thanks for your time.
Any reputable car dealership should have on site financing

Oh, I think there are a ton of places that only care if you have a job. I would nomrally advise buying an older car for cash, but since you're only looking at a shorter term, that's not so bad.

I know that JD Byrider can help you out. Just be sure to do your homework before buying the car. Sometimes they can be a little shady. But they do have there own finance company.

Look in the internet and also in free magazines in shops or supermarkets. They only problem with buy here, pay here is that the interest can be VERY high.

where I find used car dealers in Stockholm?
Mar 07, 2009 by Frozy | Posted in Buying & Selling
I need to buy Volvo S80 from Sweden. I myself am from Estonia and though that buying one from Sweden would be cheaper. Please if some one will give me some addresses for car lots in Stockholm. Transportation is not a question, also i visit Stockholm quite often.
What? Nonononono. I can't be absolutely sure since Volvos are very commonly owned here and might therefore be cheap to buy when they are used but generally it's very expensive to buy cars here. Some people go to Germany to buy cheaper cars, just a tip. Besides I have never seen a car lot in Sweden (or maybe i just don't really understand the meaning of the word).. You'd probably have to go to a normal car store that also sells used cars. Or search on the internet like on blocket.se but then you have to speak swedish or get help form someone who does.
