Dealers of Ford Motors are now taking orders for the Ford C-Max Hybrid, which has been projected to be more affordable than Toyota Prius V.
According to media reports, the Ford C-Max Hybrid is to have better fuel economy than the Toyota Prius V as well. Ford said in an official statement on Thursday that the price for the new Ford C-Max Hybrid has been set at $25,995, $550 less than its competitor Toyota Prius V.
"Ford C-Max Hybrid has all the additional feature to beat Toyota Prius V on roads," said an official spokesperson from the Ford Motors.
"In terms of its engine capacity, road clearance and unique body style, we think we are proud with our model that it can compete with the regular models whereas ours is built on Hybrid version. The Hybrid latest version has proved 42 miles per gallon and we hope these numbers will boost the further sales in the market. This result has proved in both highway and in domestic raids and has beaten all the previous records of other car makers in the world," the company said.

I've heard FORD sucks in reliability so should I avoid this car?

1999 FORD Expedition Eddie Bauer with 140k miles. Asking $5900. It was $8900 but now on clearance sale.
It's a new car dealer and comes with money back guarantee and 3 month warranty.
Carfax is clean other than 1 accident. Doesn't say how bad it was or extent of damage. But it's Carfax certified.
yeah some do but some can be good if they have been takin care of my bro has 1 that is from 1988 with 300.000 miles and it still run and this is the 1 moter

YES THEY HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS AND THE FIRST THING YOU WILL NEED AFTER THE WARRANTY IS OVER IS A TRANSMISSION.
UCANTCME | Nov 19, 2007
The mileage alone should be enough to make you run away. The dealer's having a laugh at that price.

The past 10 years have been great for Ford Motor Company. They have been receiving the highest quality and reliablity ratings out of any car company except for Honda.
Just like any used car, I would have a qualified inspector not related to the dealtership in any way, look at the truck.
I had a 1999 Ford F-150 (Essentially the same thing, except a truck, obviously) and the only two issues I had on it were the lightbulb in the passenger air bag shut off switch had burned out, and an issue with the computer coming unplugged, but I live on a dirt road, and that was to be expected.

Well, the Ford models up to about 1996 weren't the best on quality, but the Expedition should last you over 200,000 miles if the previous owner has taken care of it properly, and you keep it well maintained like routine oil changes and check ups.
Tyler P | Nov 19, 2007
yes thay are not good cars go woth a gmc car
Chris H | Nov 19, 2007
Unlike the other poster said, ford vehicles do last AS LONG AS YOU TAKE CARE OF THEM!!!! Most people beat the trash out of their cars and expect nothing is going to happen. Keep up on the oil changes and regular maintnance and your car will run along time. Its hard to say how the previous owner of this vehicle treated it so I would suggest buying something with lower miles and something newer 2002-2006 with about 10-60k miles.
zwl88796 | Nov 19, 2007
Stay away from the Expedition. Too many miles and it's gas mileage is terrible. It will nickel and dime you to death.
Also, don't always believe car fax. It all depends which shop did the repair and if it was reported.
I have a 2001 galant that I purchased new. I have been in 5 accidents, not one my fault but all required body repair. I did a car fax on this car several weeks ago and it was car fax certified with no accident history!!!!!!

Also it is said that Logan has low ground clearance & some problem with torque. Can you please guide me on that? I had brought down my choices to Ford Ikon, Tata Indigo, Maruti Esteem but decided for Logan Diesel 1.5 DLE. Is my choice woth it? As my budget is around Rs 6 lakhs only. Please suggest.
since its a Mahindra, you wont have any problems reagrding spare parts, services etc.
i haven't driven/test driven the logan, so cannot say much on it's performance, comfort etc

Hi,
If your requirement is to buy a diesel car in 6 lacs budget it is fit for u. Mahindra dsnt have a problem in spare and services. as they already have gud set up in market with 700 dealer network. if your choice is ford ikon n tata indigo. Logan will give you best value for money. except the car is not too much flashy and attractive. else wait for few months skoda is going to launch fabia n swift sedan from maruti in next year in diesel version.

I think the ground clearance of logan is enough for normal use, and nothing to worry about service backup of Mahindra. Any how good choice better than Ikon, Indigo and Esteem. Good Luck

The target customer groups for the Logan are families. This necessitated the need to have much more roomy interiors. The rear seating deserves a special mention for it offers generous headroom and legroom. A unique feature of the Logan is the third head-rest for the middle occupant in the rear seat. This is the only vehicle in its segment to offer this feature. The roominess has been further enhanced by the beige interiors that give a bright and plush feel to the occupants.
Another benchmark that Logan has set in its segment is the boot space it offers. With a capacity of 510 litre, the vehicle’s boot can carry luggage – big and small – and of all dimensions. The shape of the boot provides a low loading platform and is protected by the boot lining from the upper part of the rear bumper.
At the heart of the Logan is its state-of-the-art engine. This vehicle comes equipped with three engine options – 1.4 and 1.6 petrol and a 1.5 diesel. While the 1.4 petrol engine delivers 75hp, the 1.6 performs with 84 horses the diesel sibling gives 65 hp. Both the engines are meshed with a five-speed manual gearbox.
The car uses the tried & tested JH gearbox that has already proved its worth in the Renault range. Logan's torque has been greatly enhanced at low speeds by redesigning the profile of the cams. Despite its spacious dimensions, the vehicle is relatively lightweight. It complies with the emission standards in force in India and can be adapted to more stringent norms that will be applicable in future.
The power steering provides superior handling and enhances maneuverability with the help of a reduced turning radius of 5.25 metres. The driver gets an ergonomic seating position wherein he can view the display for all the data. An alphanumeric display in the centre of the dashboard brings together warning lights and data supplied by the onboard computer. The car also boasts of low NVH levels.
The second-generation 1.5 dCi common rail diesel engine gives a performance that is yet unmatched in this segment. With the 1.5 dCi engine – a product of the Renault group’s powertrain range – Logan offers driving pleasure combined with an astounding fuel economy (14-18 km/litre). Emission levels too have been drastically reduced to 125g/km of CO2 that makes Logan highly competitive among diesel cars currently on the market. The second-generation common rail injection system developed for the 1.5 dCi is characterized by the supply of precisely the required quantity of pressurized fuel in a series of injections, improving the efficiency of combustion and saving fuel. The system also features dedicated injector calibration, enabling the injection timing and flow to be controlled for each injector individually.

Dude, Mahindras already have an extensive service network in place, the the Logan is just launched, and is successful. As more people buy it, expect more service centres to come up; with ever improving parts availability. Note that most of Mahindra vehicles (scorpios, etc.) are diesels. So, service should not be a problem.
Do not worry about ground clearance, unless you want to drive in locations where roads do not exist.
