Sell Your Car NY Style at Huntington Toyota and Walk Away with a Check in Your ...

“There are many vehicle valuation resources out there for people to
choose from,” said Lenny Cafarelli, General Manager of Huntington
Toyota. “The difference between those programs and our own is when
customers sell their car using our program, they get a value for their
car and a check that gets them paid.”
Though websites like Kelley Blue Book and Edmunds give buyers price
quotes, they don’t always connect buyers with someone who will pay them
for their vehicle. Huntington Toyota’s Sell Your Car NY program saves
customers time and pays them with a check.
There’s no need to shop a price quote around at multiple dealerships or
risk personal safety by attempting to sell a vehicle to a private buyer.
Huntington Toyota turns the selling process into a stress-free process
with one quick and easy transaction.
Used cars are still in high demand this summer season, and Huntington
Toyota continues to turn over its used car inventory quickly; therefore,
Huntington Toyota is always in need of more vehicles to replenish its
inventory. The dealership is not only looking for trade-ins, but is also
purchasing vehicles without any expectations for car sellers to buy
another vehicle. Huntington Toyota also is announcing an excess wear and
tear credit of up to $500 on lease returns.

Free car insurance quotes?
Apr 02, 2008 by Scooby_WRX04 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
are these qoutes accurate or could the price they give you actually be lower then what the free quote says?
The quotes are an estimate at best, and based on information you give. I'd suggest that instead of looking at a web page, find an independent agent, give him your information, let him run it, and find you the best deal in his data base. The side benefit is you have a person to talk to if needed instead of an 800 number.

in general they may go up slightly depending on how honest you are about your information. i just changed to gieco and my quote was only a bit lower than my actual price

Hi,
Good post. I had some problems with my car after I had an accident. My Insurer wanted to raise my rates $525 a year! I've never even gotten a speeding ticket!
I looked for a new provider and found this website:
http://www.ffrumster.com
They compare all of the major insurance providers and give you the best deal. I ended up saving over $300 from what I was previously paying (that's $825 a year!).
Good Luck

Does anyone know of a website that has free online quotes for auto repair?
Sep 23, 2006 by Demopublican | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I am just looking to get an estimate for cost of repair to my car and rather then call around I thought it might be easier, if possible, to first see what price range I am looking at would be.
So, If anyone knows of a website that has online quotes that are free and easy and instant, please let me know.Even if the quotes are just estimates it would allow me to know what kind of cost I am going to face when replacing a clutch and shocks and brakes.
I am hoping that there is a website out there where I can select first what kind of car I have and year, for a better match on estimate of repair, and then input what I need replaced to find out what the estimate/quote would be.
Anyone?

Noone in their right mind will give you an estimate on repairs without first seeing and inspecting the car first. The repair cost also is affected by local market prices and conditions, as well as cost of repair parts. There could be multiple problems with a clutch that causes a failure, some are cheap fixes while a full replacement can run you hundreds of dollars. Shocks you could get a reasonable estimate probably by visiting the website for Midas or others. Brakes again can be really expensive or very cheap depending on what exactly needs to be replaced. Midas also does brakes (oh, and meineke)

Take the vehice to the actual repair facility. The only thing they can quote you is the cost of the parts. The vehicle needs to be properly inspected because they could be smaller or additional components causing the problems with the bigger components. You would be very upset after talking with them on the phone and then after they actually inspect the vehicle the prices triples because now they had a physical opportunity see all the parts in that particular system. Example you have some brake noise and you assume its the pads so you say I could go to midas because they have a special for 89.95 per axle, but after they look at vehicle and find out the you need pads, hardware, and rotor resurfaced. so now a 89.95 job turns to 300.00. So to be on the safe side Just take the vehicle in.

When purchasing a new car should I have the price and the extras they provide all written in one sheet?
Nov 15, 2007 by maddogg | Posted in Buying & Selling
I was given an Out the Door quote for an '08 Honda Civic and was also told that they will provide free oil change for up to a year and free car rental if my car ever needs to stay in their location overnight within the time of the warranty. My question is - Will all the extras I will be provided with the purchase of the car such as the free car rental and free oil changes be written on the initial contract I sign? I was told in one dealership that the oil changes and free rental are signed in a separate office after I sign the contract with the salesman.
If they say that it is separate and that I should sign the Out the Door price first with the salesman and that the extras will be written in a separate sheet of paper in a separate department; should I believe that? Have I just been scammed? Or should I ask to only sign ONE paper which states the final sales price of the car and all the extras they CLAIM they will provide? THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I wouldn't believe it. Go to a different dealership if they're sounding shady to you.
Lauren | Nov 15, 2007
Many of the extra a bonuses to promote the deal. It is OK that they are on separate documents.
But tell the dealer that you would prefer to have them both at the same time because ....once before you had a problem with a similar situation and was scammed out of the extra.
If he wants to sell you the vehicle he'll make it work.
Lyn B | Nov 15, 2007
Any extras should be noted on the origial buy order BEFORE you sign it, or on a separate paper given to you at the same time called a "WE OWE", which is basically a coupon valid for the items listed.
If they are not willing to do this, just walk away. P.S. Please don't blame or be rude to the salesperson. You would be very surprised at how little control they have at the dealership.
Good Luck.
mariahsdad | Nov 15, 2007
You are not being scammed or anything like that. This could be a service the dealer provides and there may not be any contract to it. We offer loaner cars for any service, in or out of warranty, we also offer drop off and pick up service for your car, but these are just what we do, I've never had anyone ask me to put that in writing.
If you are entering into a special service or warranty package then that is different, there would be a separate contract for that and the price of it will be on the main contract.
I think you are being too suspicious. Not everybody is out to screw you.
jay | Nov 15, 2007
The dealership I used to work for offered those extras. Customers were provided that information in writing during the closing of the deal in the finance office. Make sure you get that paperwork before you sign the contract. It won't be the actual purchase contract, since that is between you and the bank. It will be a contract between you and the dealership. Make sure the finance person knows that is part of the reason why you chose to buy from that dealership and you will walk out if that is not part of the deal.
Also, know the reason dealerships offer that type of stuff. Alot of revenue from a car dealership is brought in from the service department. If you get your oil changes there, you will most likely bring it to them for your other routine maintenance and to take care off major issues that arise. Its sort of a ploy, but not neccessarily a bad thing for you to do. Just make sure you shop around for the rest of your maintenance services before you pay too much at the dealership.

What to do When the mechanic who is suppose to fix your car screws it up worse!?
Nov 19, 2009 by sarah | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
About a month ago i took my car (2000 Mitsubishi eclipse gs)to get an oil change. While i was there i got a price quote on something i needed because of a rejected inspection sticker because of a check engine light. Other than the rejection sticker my car was in perfect working condition i had no other problems with it ever!!I took my car back about two weeks later and they guy told me i needed a Catalytic converter i told the guy to do it because i couldn't keep driving with a rejection sticker. The next day he called me and said that it was not that but in fact it was a relay that he needed to change so i said ok. After i got my car back he said drive it for a few days so it would have time to reset so i could get a sticker. With in that time i was driving my car i would drive it then shut it off at night and i would wake up to start it in the morning and try to start it it wouldn't start! It turned out that for some reason the cooling fan was not turning off at night and i brought my car back to have it fixed. After a few days he assured me that now everything was fine he also had fixed the problem and my car was able to pass inspection i got into my car and saw that my check engine light was still on so i said how did i pass if my check engine light is still on and he gave me some bullshit story but i was glad because i had my car back and i had a sticker like i needed. At that time i paid about 320 dollars for the job and figured everything was fine so i took my car and drove it for the day. The next morning i went to start it and the car wouldn't start but the battery was still fine like my lights were on and everything. I had my car towed back to the shop and the guy said he would figure it out and have it back to me in a few days. A few days later i went back and he said that the fuses were draining the battery and thats why the car wouldn't start so he replaced the battery and installed a kill switch i was like what the hell is that and he said it was our only option for your car so every day before i started my car i needed to flip the switch on and when i was done using the car i had to flip the switch down . He charged me another 75 dollars. by this point i was getting ready to report them because i thought putting in a kill switch was ridiculous but i had to work all week so i just drove my car and was going to deal with it the next week, and apparently with the switch the guy said i would not have any problems again no matter what. After the week of driving my car one day i was driving down the street going about 45 miles per hour when my car just stopped un announced in the middle of the street! it happened about 4 times with in the hour it took me to get my car there! when i got there i went straight to the owner and said this is crazy and i want my car back to the way it was when i brang it here i also said after i let you people work on it my car went to shit and there should have never been a switch put in it in the first place and i want the switch taken out immediately. The owner apologized and said i was 100 percent right and they would fix my car for free and it would fine . A week later i called looking to see what was going on with the car and he said they were waiting for a relay and it would be about 4-5 days till they got it and he would call me. When he didn't call me i just showed up there un announced and he told me i needed a new computer system for my car because there was a burn in the computer chip and that it was 1200 but they were looking for a used one so they wouldnt have to pay that much for a new one. He said he would call me when they found one. He also admitted that the burn was from when he switched the relays and that they were not going to charge me anything. At this point i think that my car is just getting worse and worse because he does not know what the hell he is doing and i know if i just show up there and have it towed to another place it is going to be thousands to fix what they messed up and i dont have the money to pay for it. i feel like even if he says the car is fixed i will be afraid to drive it because i will always wonder when im going to break down. im not really sure what i should do! i think they may have bypassed something in my car to pass it for inspection and in the mean time screwed up the wiring but i have no proof ! any ideas on what i should do? I understand i got taking advantage of and i was stupid to go back so i am all set with any negative comments !
Your car must of had a smog issue and the "check engine" light was on. The reading was like a p0130 or something that indicated it was a bad cat or a problem with the post cat 02 sensor itself. They checked and the cat was not causing the issue, so it is common to replace to 02 sensor. A typical OEM 02 sensor is about $75-150 dollars and its a plug and play type. but the mechanic wanted to save some $$$ and stuck in a generic "post catalytic converter" 02 sensor that they had to splice into place. When they did the splicing the wires were wrong. Or the spliced a used one off a different car that they had just laying around(no warranty remember and all new ones have a 30 day warranty minimum)
The bad 02 sensor reading and non-resettable check engine light would indicate a bad relay, so they changed it, but since it was the wrong wiring job and/or the wrong 02 sensor it just drained power trying to constantly "heat" itself. That’s why your car kept dying, that’s also why they stuck a switch in to cut the power because their dirty.
Geeze… That is a super dirty mechanic and you should call a attorney because you could own that shop. Get some pics before they finish you car and go cause them some grief!! Those jerks!
