Searches from mobiles up 150 per cent
24.05.12
THE number of mobile unique users on Autotrader.co.uk was up 150 per cent in January, compared to the same month last year.
Autotrader.co.uk received 25m searches by 2.2m mobile unique users in January 2012, prompting calls to dealers to ensure their websites are fully optimised for all platforms.
Despite the increase in mobile internet use, mobiles are not replacing PC or laptop access to the internet – interestingly the research suggests that mobile search is actually stimulating search on other platforms, with 78 per cent of mobile users maintaining or increasing the frequency with which they use their PC to search.
Nathan Coe, group director, Auto Trader said: ‘With more than 24m people in the UK using their mobile device to access the internet every month, the need for dealers to ensure that their website is easy to use for customers on the move is more important than ever.

Geneva 2012: Lexus RX 450h
24.05.12
What is it?
Lexus’ fourth generation RX 4×4 and the third to feature hybrid engine technology. It’s aimed at those who like the idea of a large, capable off-roader, but dislike being spat at by cyclists at traffic lights. If you want a reasonably economical 4×4 but can’t bring yourself to drive a diesel, it could be the perfect solution.
What’s it like?
Other than the new headlamps and pinched grille, which brings the RX 450h’s front end aesthetic in line with the new Lexus corporate theme first showcased on the new Lexus GS, little information has been given prior to the car’s unveiling. It’ll be quiet, that’s for sure: Lexus’ superb interior refinement married to a hushed hybrid motor will make for a supremely relaxed mode of transport. Also expect generous equipment levels and competitive pricing when it eventually goes on sale.
What’s it up against?
Given that the original hybrid RX came out in 2003, it has taken rival manufacturers a long time to offer a similarly powered 4×4. Currently, the only real alternatives are the Porsche Cayenne Hybrid and the Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid. However, if you’re sold on the Lexus (read stress free) way of motoring, there is little that will tempt you into those models.

Exchange and Mart is cheaper to buy. Both require payment to sell. If you are a buyer, both are free to read the seller's adverts online. I bought a car by reading autotradrer online.

I bought my Mustang off of Autotrader.com, and bought another car off of craigslist.org but as far as actual paper sources, I would say your local paper or daily free paper.

Whats the difference between private ads and trade ads on auto trader?
Apr 21, 2008 by Captain132 | Posted in Other - Cars & Transportation
When searching for vehicles on auto trader, there is an option to choose either trade ads, private ads or both. Whats the difference?
Private ads are vehicles sold by private people like you and I.
Trade in ads are vehicles sold by car lots and dealers.

About how fast can I a private Auto Trader seller can sell a car?
Jul 13, 2008 by lilh2394 | Posted in Buying & Selling
Ok, so I live in Houston and I tried posting some cars that I need to sell on craiglist houston and no serious buyers came up to me that really wanted to buy my car. Now I'm going to try auto trader but I wanna know how fast I can sell a car if I post a listing on there.
There are no guarantees how fast they will sell. Remember, we are in a piss poor economy.
