Since motorcycles and scooters are often the primary means of transport for low income people in developing nations, Kewkanjai wanted to make sure his design performed its most important job — that of carrying lots of stuff — better than a two-wheeler. The LM-1 features two cargo zones. The first is a detachable luggage carrier at the back of the vehicle. The second cargo area is under the trike’s seat.
Aside from designated cargo areas the designer kept the LM-1 stripped down and clutter free, providing ample areas for items to be strapped down. Kewkanjai figures that if a rider can carry everything he or she needs to in a single trip, that lowers costs and, ultimately, may help increase the standard of living.
Kewkanjai’s objective designing the LM-1 was to minimize the number of components and reducing material usage. “The form,” he says, “is simplified to reduce the cost of moldings, which in turn lowers manufacturing cost.” And, the LM-1 is a ingeniously simple machine. The trike features a removable battery pack to aid ease of charging. The controls are extremely user friendly and, since there is a large windscreen, the trike provides considerably more comfort than a standard motorcycle or scooter.

Reputable cheap motorcycles websites online for sale?
Aug 01, 2009 by CamaroPrincess | Posted in Motorcycles
I am looking for a cheap decent motorcycle, around $3000. Are Lifan, CF Moto good bikes. Does anyone know of any others or website. I will be driving it approximately 150 miles per week for school. i would also like a new one. I would like an automatic one and would exceed 75mph no problem. Thanks!
Before you do anything about getting a motorcycle, take the MSF Basic Rider Course: http://www.msf-usa.org/
Decent and cheap don't normally apply at the same time.
Lifan and CF Moto are made in China -- recent market entries in the U.S.. I would be extremely shocked to find that their reliability and quality matched any of the companies that have been selling quality reliable motorcycles for many decades.
Personally I would rather have a used Kawasaki than a new Lifan. I would be more assured that it would not quit on me when I needed it. I would rather have new boots than a used Lifan.
To HIT 75 mph, let alone exceed it, you will need at least a 250. Depending on your tastes, the 250 cruisers are the Honda Rebel, Yamaha Virago (now V-Star) and the Suzuki GZ250. The cruisers just about top out at 75 -- if 75+ is a real requirement the Suzuki S40/Savage would be a better cruiser choice.
But the bike that would suit your requirements best would be a pre-2008 Kawasaki 250R Ninja. It's Kawasaki's biggest seller, lots of good used bikes on the market for under $3K. Light, easy to handle, will hit 100 mph.
Buy local, take someone with you that knows a little about motorcycles and can do a test ride.
Oh, yeah, as far as automatic shifting -- your body will be doing that soon after you start riding, no more thinking about it than thinking of how you need to balance standing on two feet.

Look for a police auction in your area. It's kind of hit or miss, but you might be able to score a good deal.
Might be a little road rash on it, maybe some blood stains from the previous owner... but that stuff should clean up no problem.
You might contact 'Jaz' in this forum, he's selling one.
