Where can I buy government seized cars?
Mar 02, 2009 by blue0shoelaces | Posted in Buying & Selling
I want to buy a government seized car but I need to know where to find listings of cars. I also want to know the process, if anyone has experience with buying one.
I think the whole idea is to sell you a list that doesn't exist ... the gov sells used cars from prisons ex- cop cars , tractors etc but the deals are far and few between ..and if it was such a great deal do you think some cop isn't smart enough to buy it himself and resell it ??
their are no pie in the sky deals out there except the person who needs to sell right now for some reason .. or someone WHO likes you an awful lot

What can you tell me about buying government seized cars?
Jan 12, 2007 by beachbum | Posted in Buying & Selling
I've been looking at some and they are really nice cars for like $1500. Is it viable and legit to buy seized cars? What's the catch? What should I avoid or be cautious of?
dream on-the local governments and agencies get first pick, all that's left is the dregs

Don't do it! You don't know how hard those vehicles were run before they were seized, they could have been ran to pieces, held together by a few bolts, it will run good for about a week or so then you'll start having trouble. I've been there.

Are government seized cars reliable, or too good to be true?
Jun 06, 2009 by pstesa | Posted in Buying & Selling
I am currently browsing cars and I've heard about these gov't auctions of seized cars. I browsed the websites and I've seen brand new, $30,000 and up cars sold for $7g and less. Is this too good to be true, and/or are these cars reliable?
First of all, any auction that has deals is going to be known to the automotive professionals. If there was a way to buy a car for a lot under actual wholesale value, don't you think that the dealers would be there buying? There is no way you are going to buy a brand new car that is worth $30,000 for $7,000. The dealers in the area would be there and bid the car up much higher.
Most of these websites are trying to sell you a list of auctions.

for the most part , they are reliable, just remember they were working when they were taken(seized), but you can buy a brand new car off the lot & have problems with it, low chance of it happening, but nothing man made is guaranteed.

usually when its too good to be true its true its a scam--whats it take for people to believe that//want a piece of candy little girl?? give me a break--look at scams as scams

Police seized and impounded cars can be anything from junkers to expensive luxury cars used by drug dealers. Of course, if you know what you are doing you can get good prices at police auctions but the deals won't just fall in your lap. Here's more about it:

im lookin and there are deals that seem too good to be true. correct?
That's like asking how reliable are cars with sunroofs?
Your question covers a wide range of various vehicles from different manufacturers. You will have some good cars, you will have some bad cars.

the myth about government seized cars, can u really get some good cars for cheap ?
Aug 22, 2008 by csare007 | Posted in Buying & Selling
If this is true, how cheap are we talking, and how to I go about looking for siezed cars
Government auctions provide NO titles. You can't drive a vehicle on any street without registering it with a title. They are cheap because they have to become parts cars. The government can not guarantee miles since they have NO idea if they are true and correct. The reason go on why they are cheaper. They are cheaper because they are nearly worthless. If it was a good idea every dealer would buy these cars, dealers are way ahead of the general public when it come to purchasing car.
