How can I find out what exact brand and model of tires came on my 1985 vehicle?

I have a 1985 Chevy G20 Van and I want to know not only the original tire size but also what brand and tread pattern was originally installed on this vehicle from the factory when it was brand new.
The original size is 225/75SR15, the 85 G20 my father purchased new had Uniroyal Tiger Paw radials installed from the factory. The old Tiger Paw radials are not made anymore, but they do make a Tiger Paw AWP, which will probably be as close to original as you can get 20 years later. The G20 does call for an XL or Extra Load designated tire, and Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP actually has Extra Load printed on the side of the tire following the size imprint. The AWP is available at most tire centers.

usually a dealer can tell you, what is the vehicle built options, But for a 1985, I don't think anybody can help you. unless you know some one who has an exact same van, and he has the stock tires.

Inside of the passenger door on the door frame you should find make and size requirements. Some were inside the glove box on the glove box door and some on the drivers door, door frame. Other than than that read the maintainance manuel or contact Chevy

You could call GM and see if they know. I don't know if they keep records of what that far back of what tires are installed on which vehicle. Your 1985 Chevy could have had Goodyears, but the one next to might have BF Goodrich.

These tires are 2 ply and are skinny. They dont say how much air PSI to put in so i was wondering. please answer only if you know for sure from expirence or own one please

What kind of tires should I get for my car?

Im 19 years old and have a 2006 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE. I like to drive fast and quick around corners. I live in California where its normally not that wet but can be rainy sometimes. So what kind of tires would anyone prefer to me? A make and model tire would be nice! Thank you!!

My favorite type of tire brand is Toyo tires, my advice is to go to any tire facility and ask what type of tire will fit your car

you better buy what the manufacture recommends PS slow down,that car is way too fast for a 19 years old! PSS I had a nephew that died in one of those cars.
