2nd Annual Debra McMaster Scholarship softball tournament

The daughter of Debra McMaster, Claire McMaster presented both scholarships to the honorees and youngest daugther Erin McMaster threw the first pitch to begin the tournament. Jerry McMaster husband of Debra McMaster spoke words of thanks to everyone that played a part of this tournament.
D-Mac tourney successful, Lady Bears win third place title
The Spring Hill Lady Bears softball team has begun the 2012 season with several key victories having one defeat which came in the 2nd Annual Debra McMaster Memorial Softball tournament held at Hope Fair Park over this past weekend.
The Lady Bears took command defeating Lafayette County 13-2, Genoa 10-4, falling to South Side Bee Branch 3-2, and bouncing back to be victorious over Dierks to take the third place title in D-Mac softball tournament. To open softball tournament action, the Lady Bears faced off against the Lafayette County Lady Cougars.
The Lady Bears rallied over the Lady Cougars 13-2 in five innings, recording 12 hits and no errors. Lafayette County was allowed two runs, off seven hits with six errors.
The Lady Bears started out big scoring four runs in the first inning. Claire McMaster, Suzie Gresham, Julia Chambless and Lauren Jones each scored a run. Chambless doubled, Lauren Jones singled, and Sydney Orr singled in the inning.
The Lady Bears led Lafayette County 4-0. In the second inning, the Lady Bears recorded three runs including a huge homerun by Gresham. Chambless and Lauren Jones each doubled and scored runs. Kelsey Turner singled as Spring Hill led Lafayette County 7-0.In the third, the Lady Bears took a 9-0 lead with runs scored by Lauren Kidd and McMaster.
