Only Minnesota had its starting goaltender return from a year ago when it started the 2011-12 season, meaning the coaching staffs at Boston College, Ferris State and Union all had to kick the proverbial tires a bit with their goalie corps before getting to this point.
So in a Frozen Four setting that can turn goaltenders into stars, the teams will be able to look to the crease and know that player has earned the right to get introduced before the biggest games of the year.
“We just haven’t had the reins throughout our career; we’ve all had our struggles in our own way with lost time,” Boston College’s Parker Milner said in assessing the Frozen Four goaltending corps. “It’s good to see all of us growing into ourselves a little bit.”
Some teams had more work to do than others in finding the person that will occupy the most-watched parts of the ice on Thursday.
Before it started a memorable run that locked it in as the top overall seed in the tournament, Boston College was just getting by, sitting at 14-10-1 after a loss to Maine on Jan. 21.

Whats the difference between grand touring all season tires and high performance all season tires?

I'm thinking about buying some new tires for my dodge charger, and the orginal factory tires are grand touring tires. I went to tirerack and realized they also have high performance all season tires i could buy instead of the grand touring. My question is whats the difference between the two tires?I'm a performance guy myself, so instantly was leaning towards buying the high performance all season tires, but i don't know if it will benefit me more then the orginal grand touring tires.
grant touring ,or what some call the gt tire is rated for higher speeds and all season tires are good for all types of driving,like winter weather ,mud and snow conditions also,they will have a different tread design that will allow them to get more traction then the grand touring tire,good luck.

A Grand Touring tire will have a softer ride & probably better winter traction than the high performance tire all season tire.

grand touring= nice soft quite ride good for long trips
performence= little louder harder ride but better at faster speeds and cornering.

I drive a 2007 Honda Civic Coupe and cannot afford to buy winter tires and then another set after the winter (which I need). I was thinking of getting all season tires, does anyone have suggestions for the best all season tires in the winter?
Such a tire does not exist. All season tires are useless in the winter. If you live in an area where it snows revise your budget and put snow tires on. Is your life and peace of mind worth a couple hundred bucks. I know mine is.
Only one of my vehicles has all seasons still on it and we do not drive it in the snow ........ ever.

Continental Conti Extreme-Contact. They were the only all season tire that performed as well in ice and snow as the snow tires. They also had the longest treadwear and the lowest rolling resistance among the all seasons. It's amazing they are good at all those factors. I recently installed a pair on the front of my Accord. I can go really fast in the rain without hydroplaning as well. You can check Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct, and get them installed at Mr. Tire cheap. Mr. Tire may be having a buy three get one free sale, which is worth checking out.

I'd think you are good with any tire that is considered all season.
I must admit that I have snow tires for the winter and summer tires for the summer on my car.
However, regardless of what "life is good" said, we have all season tires on our minivan and have not had any problems ever.
So I'd say just go with whatever all season tire you can afford.

I have a 2004 Honda Civic that needs new tires. The stock tires are practically bald on the back with only 35,000 miles.
How much would 4 brand new all-season tires cost? I think I have heard of someone getting them for $25 each, so $100 total, but I have also heard of prices a lot higher. Does the brand I get really matter? I want the cheapest all-season tire possible without putting myself in danger.

about $80.00 to $100.00 per tire.
i like Bridgestone.
your supposed to rotate the tires about every 5,000 miles so what happened to your back tires won't happen.
make sure they balance the tires (that's extra but you must have it done) some places that sell the tires offer free rotation every 5,000)
call a tire dealer for prices. write down the tire size before you call. it's printed on the sidewall of every tire.
when they rotate the tires they take the left rear and put it on the right front, the right rear on the left front.

I am wanting to put new tires on my car for winter snow and ice. I was looking online and there are snow tires but also all season tires. What's the difference? Are you only supposed to have snow tires during winter? Do you have to change your tires when summer comes? Thanks!
Snow tires are designed with traction in winter as the main factor. Therefore the tread pattern is deeper and grips the snow better than an all-weather tire. All-weather tires are just that,tires designed with a multitude of driving conditions in mind. I think that a good all-weather tire would be your best bet if you are driving a front-wheel drive car. Otherwise I would use snow tires on a rear-wheel drive car.

Can all season tires be used on a car with a helical limited slip differential?

The Nissan Sentra SE-R offers a helical limited slip differential, but when you get that option, it excludess all-season radials and you have to get hi-performance tires. If I want to also run all-season tires sometime, or even winter tires on this car, is there any reason why the helical limited slip differential would be incompatible?
Any tire will still work they recommend the perfomance tire so you get the best ride/stability out of it. Its like buying a sports car your supposed to use perfomance z rated tires do u have to? no but you will feel the difference when driving.
