Yankees Trade Speculation: 7 Deals the Yanks Can Make to Replace Mariano Rivera
24.05.12
&Nbsp;reported late last week that Balfour was starting to become one of the more "sought-after possible back-end pieces" on the budding trade market.
ESPN's Buster Olney tweeted pretty much the same thing a few days earlier, saying Balfour was "probably the best reliever you could trade for today."
Balfour's season has taken a turn for the worse in recent days. He had a 0.82 ERA after he recorded his fifth save on April 24th, and since then his ERA has rose to 4.73. His last two outings, in particular, have been brutal.
The bright side of that is that Balfour's value is not as inflated as it was when he was on top of the relief pyramid just a few days ago. Cafardo says the Los Angeles Angels have kicked the tires on Balfour, but the Yanks will have an edge in a possible bidding war with them because they don't share the AL West with the A's.
With the Yankees, Balfour could easily be used as a seventh-inning man in front of Rafael Soriano and David Robertson. That's not a bad trio of late-inning relievers.
Chevrolet’s new Camaro ZL1 has set a number of performance benchmarks that are likely to excite speed-addled car fans. Now the car maker can add an 11-second quarter mile sprint to the list.
Actually the car’s elapsed time of 11.93 seconds was just a smidgen under the 12-seconds, but in drag racing being “in the elevens” is a big deal, especially for a factory-built car without extensive modifications. The car that set the 11.93 mark was equipped with factory-issued Goodyear Eagle tires, though the tires were custom developed and manufactured for this particular Camaro model.
In a way the 580-horsepower ZL1’s speed at the drag strip was almost “too fast” for National Hot Rod Association-sanctioned tracks. Rules require cars that complete the quarter mile in 11.49 or less to have five-point roll bars for safety. Some Camaro owners who install special racing tires or make other speed boosting changes may wind up having to install the roll bar as well.

I have a 2002 Ford Ranger with 44,000 miles on BF Goodrich tires and it's time to get new tires. Is that a good brand and if so, where should I purchase them and have them installed?
Costco has good prices on bf Goodrich and Michelin

Discount usually has great prices, and you can haggle with them. They also can give you a good idea of what tires you should buy as they have many, MANY brands.

Seems like a cheap tire to me, I'd be scared to put them on my car, but I suppose if you want a cheap tire, that's a good price for that size.

Get a better picture by going to: tirerack.com. They sell 20 different brands and all models within these types of tires. You can individually open the tire, read and open the word: Survey. They do multiple tests (13 in all) so you'll be able to compare how they stop in dry weather, perform in light and heavy snow, how quiet they are, expected tread-life, steering input etc.

Best Price Search for new Tires!!!! HELP ME !?
Aug 26, 2010 by azviolet2003 | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I have gotten a migraine looking online for the best tire deal! WANT the lowest price tires without sacrificing safety of course, but I just cannot afford $600-$700 for tires right now! It's time, tho. Tire tread is just at the top of Lincoln's head. Damn him.
BEST ANSWER will go to the person who finds me the BEST DEAL on 4 tires. Here are the details:
2007 Ford Mustang Coupe-Pony Package, 235/55/17 OEM tires. Zip code 85338, Goodyear Arizona.
Have Pirellis (love them), but will change brand to save $.
If I can go to a 225 instead of 235 to save $, will do that also.
Thanks in advance for your reseach and assistance!!
Go to tirerack.com and look at what others are putting on their cars like yours...or you can call them and speak to someone and they will recommend what you specify here. You can also read reviews for the tires there and then make the best informed decision. In my experience I have called the dealer after getting a recommendation from tirerack to see if they will price match...then deduct $25 off the price of each tire and call your local discount tire store (tires.com) and see if they will then beat that price. As William Shatner says in his priceline commercials..its all in the "art of the deal"..Good Luck.

Either Wal Mart or Costco will be competitive with each other and offer the lower price. Wal Mart owns Sams Club and that competes with Costco, so they are constantly comparing and matching prices.
