(CN) - General Motors and Michelin cannot shake claims they blackballed a competitor's race-car tire choice, a federal judge ruled. L.G. Motorsports builds racecars, competes in car-racing series and sells auto parts. In a lawsuit now pending in the Eastern District of Texas, the company claimed that GM, Corvette Racing and Michelin conspired to prevent it from racing the No. 28 Corvette C6 in the GT2 class of the American Le Mans Series. To race in various series a car must be homologated, or put together, in accordance with the series' governing bodies. LG claims it bought a GT2 Corvette in spring 2008 based on GM's promise that it would obtain all the necessary approvals for homologation according to the Federation Internationale de L'Automobile racing series. GM also told LG it was not planning to race

Best tires for a 1996 Honda Accord Ex Sedan?
Jun 19, 2007 by Mean Geno | Posted in Honda
I'm not one of those idiots that races my accord against a corvette. Stupid teen idiots.
Anyways, I just want some good tires. Are there different sizes of tires?
The recommended tire size for your car is P195/60-R15. There really is no need to change the size. If you are looking for a decent, and well priced tire, I've had good experiences with the Kumho Solus-KH16. Handling is very good on this all season tire.
A good tool for comparative tire quality shopping, is the user review on tirerack.com Tirerack lists quite a few brands/models of tires, and asks users to rate them. Bear in mind though, that many of these reviewers will tend to heap alot of blame on tires, when buying new ones does not magically solve all their suspension problems. There is alot to be said for a good alignment job when getting new tires.

i assume you have stock wheels....if so, your original tire for that car is a 205/60/15.....if you want a lower profile you can drop down to a 55 or 50 series....its up to you....personally i would go with the stock size or maybe the 55 series.....as for the actual tires, i think honda uses bridgestone or michelins on that vehicle.....i dont know if you use winter tires or not.....if so, get yourself a nice summer tire....if not, find a good all-season........good luck

205/60/15,I have uniroyal tiger paws on mine, great in snow and rain, and the price was right,my cost was $48 per tire at employee discount ,yours should be around 75 or so.btw they also ride great on the highway,I put 150 miles on my car a day,and I am very happy with them.

Best looking Tires for a 1996 3000GT?
Aug 20, 2009 by Lil G | Posted in Mitsubishi
I know the stock size on my car is a 225/55/16.
I have been looking to upgrade to a set of either 16 inch or 17 inch rims, preferably with low profile tires in mind, I want to give the car a look similar to a corvette.
What would be the best tires+ sizes??
first of all i would lean towards regular tires and not low profile. i had 18's on my 3000gt with low profiles and the thing still looked like it needed to be lowered. i bought new 17's with regular tires and they look great and no need to spend the money to get it lowered because the tires filled the void.
and the 3000gt is an amazing car and any tire would be glad to be put on one.

What are the best performance tires?
Nov 08, 2006 by jeff_is_sexy | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I'm looking for a high performance tire that will perform well in wet, dry and snowy conditions. I'd like one that holds the road when wet almost as good as when it's dry. I need good traction for takeoffs, but good cornering as well.
The car is a Z28 Camaro with Corvette wheels.
perellies are good or Grand am's

OK Performance Tires suck in the wet and snow! I don't care who makes them.
The best you can do is hope Michellin makes the Hydroedge for your size. I tryed Kuhmo 711 tires and they handled fantastic but after 3000 miles they were bald, Thats with my wife driving it! So don't go there.

Which tires are best for my car?
Jun 04, 2007 by Ashley | Posted in Other - Cars & Transportation
I just bought a Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, LS2, automatic. This car will be driven on a very curvy, often rainy road. Any suggestions on tire choices? The dealer suggested Yokohama and Pirelli. They are of no cost to me, and are being paid for by the dealership. My choice. Suggestions?
Oh, and these are low profile tires, sizes 285-35zr19 (back) & 245-40zr18 (front), e-mailed to me by the dealership. I haven't went to pick the car up yet to check.
I'd also like tires that will last for a lot of miles, because when it comes time to replace them I will be paying for them.
I'm not overly familiar with Yokohama or Pirelli tires. As far as I know, they are both good tire brands, however, my recommendation is for a set of Goodyear Eagle F-1 tires. They handle curves and the wet and dry exceptionally well. Oh, by the way....your 'Vette should be a stick! I hope this helps.....

I am looking for a home for my 1976 corvette. How is the best way to get the car in a collectors hands?
May 19, 2008 by Larry C | Posted in Buying & Selling
I purchased the car new and it has 13k original miles. It is flame orange with a tan interior like the sales brochure picture. I have the original Firestone 500 tires (In storage). I have the original Delco Freedom battery, factory build sheet, and all documentation as well as service manuals. It needs a good home with someones collection. It has been garaged and only rained on three times.
Sounds like a nice ride. I was not a fan of the 76 Vette, but the low miles, original condition, and documentation make it worth it.
You could sell it on the Hemmings website.
See the second link below to help you judge its value. I would guess someplace in the low $20,000 price range.
By the way, a 76 Vette is worth nowhere near what a 67 Vette is worth.

There is a certain visual upside to these tires as well, but they support the Corvette and its driver with much more confidence in fast corners. We did not test the car on the skidpad, but we do not doubt Chevrolet's 1g claim.
The rest of the lineup of Corvette also gets to receive upgrade in interior and equipment department though those are modest at best. Among the features that are new to the 2012 MY Corvette include optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure tires.
